Re: Namco High

It would make sense if it was a free parody, but the price for the higher packs is ridiculous. I guess it's supposed to make fun of dating sims, but isn't that who the software is targeted to? I feel like an actual legit visual novel crossover might be a better strategy than "ha! ha! dating si...

Re: Ever 17

The progression in Remember11 is linear, so there are no routes in the traditional sense. Once you clear Kokoro's scenario, you'll move onto Satoru's.

Re: "I don't usually play dating-sims but..."

The "dating sim" tag is detrimental, isn't it? I've always hated the term myself. And considering it's one of the best-selling titles, I'm pretty sure the Japanese companies will want to make shorter, cheaper works -- now that's when from a price-point perspective they'll go head-to-head w...

Re: Ever 17

It's not about the length that I complain about, it's how the time is filled. Just because a VN has a long story line it doesn't mean I'll accept wasting hours with nonsense. In that case they should just have made it shorter. This isn't an uncommon complaint. On other forums, I've found that some ...

Re: Currently Airing Anime

What shows is everyone planning to watch this season? An abundance of high profile, well budgeted series will launch this season.....kind of a resurgence for the industry after 2-3 unimpressive years. Anyway, I'll be checking out Guilty Crown, Fate/Zero, and Persona 4. Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon see...

Re: Corpse Party:Blood Covered to become Localized

The PC-98 game was indeed free. It was submitted as an entry in a RPGMaker development contest, and ASCII distributed the game after selecting it as a winner. Nevertheless, free distribution can't be assumed for doujin games. Is Team Gris Gris are the same people who made this game Yes. Team Gris Gr...

Re: looking for Japanese games

The Criterion Collection publishes some classic movies. My exposure to them is pretty limited, but the Kurosawa and Ozu titles are particularly popular. Personally, I can't recommend Floating Weeds and Ikiru enough. For something more modern, you could look into The Makioka Sisters or some of Shunji...

Re: Top 5 Favorite Visual Novels

Remember 11 (Kokoro scenario) Phantom of Inferno EVE Burst Error Symphonic Rain (story is nothing special, but the music makes it worthwhile) Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney I'm not the biggest fan of heavy melodrama or high school romance, so some of the other games don't appeal to me as much as they ...

Re: Worst anime you have ever watched?

Man, if a simple reversal confuses you, I'd recommend against watching Baccano! or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimia. Both are excellent shows, but they're also seriously out of order with the episodes, on purpose. Touka Gettan is a complete mess compared to either series. Especially at the beginnin...
