Re: Romance mods for Bioware games - what would you recommend?
Now that it's getting back to me and I did a search, I'd probably try out Imoen's and Valen. I think Imoen's was one of the popular and stable mods although I could be wrong but that's something that I vaguely recall constantly being mentioned. Yay imouto incest. ^^; I guess some people are into th...

Hm. Problem with Nummyz is that it's carpal tunnel syndrome incarnate. Click click click.

Yeah, me too.
Yurika's absolutely the sweetest of the three girls; she can show that she loves you without either snuggling up to you all the time or setting your hair on fire.
Showing you the sunrise and telling you about her dreams of the sea, now that's romantic.

Re: Looking for ren'ai in all the wrong places
Final Fantasy seems to slip the ren'ai in where it's least expected...unfortunately, both VII and X failed to really integrate it into the plot beyond a couple of scenes.

Well, P3 is heavily deconstructionist in tone. (Can't speak for 4.) Mitsuru acts like an adult because she's the Student Council President and because she never had a real childhood to begin with. (Yakuza ojou.) Ken acts like an adult because he's, what, eleven? (Which means he's far more mature tha...

Re: Favorite FF
Well, the problem is that, A, the U.S. is the big market that the video game companies want to feed, and B, anime (and thus Japanese video games) in the U.S. is overwhelmingly targeted at the shonen market. So you get kiddy, angsty ore heroes rather than adults. Cecil, Terra, and Celes were adults, ...

How'd you get three endings in two playthroughs?Kelenas wrote:Strangely enough, I had no trouble getting all of Yurika's endings in just 2 playthroughs, but Tohko gave me quite a bit of trouble.

Re: [WIP] Mass Effect: Horizon
Heh... Romance options with a Turian... I was disappointed by the lack of good romance options period in Mass Effect. As well as a main quest that lasted no longer than six hours. What, Ashley wasn't loli enough? :) That said, yeah, the romance in Mass Effect was worse than BioWare usually gets. (J...

Mm. After checking up, I got things mixed up; that didn't happen in Sailor Moon. Which means "treat my last statement with the gravest suspicion until I find out where I got this particular theory from."
Exactly how much control the meddling executives have over the mangaka varies, though.

Re: Protesting the Pirate Bay Protests
Speaking as someone who has a pirated copy of Mass Effect on his computer (and has bought the real thing, which he keeps in the box because he doesn't want to screw with SecuROM), and who watches fansubbed anime and plays DOS games that are no longer sold, I think that IP law in general is going to ...

Kick the OP for not including Tactics, which had the best storyline of any of them. And they bloody should -not- have placed it in the same canon as the other FFT games. The original Ivalice was made the way it was for a reason; it wasn't supposed to be a world with half-naked rabbit girls all over ...

Re: Fan Games Based on Anime/Games?
Generally speaking, Japanese companies don't go after people for doujins or doujin games. Doujinshi are free publicity for the main course. (Square-Enix is an exception: they're known for trying to nuke the Chrono community from orbit. Repeatedly.) That said, the odds of anyone who speaks for the co...

Re: Animes you just can't stand
6: Camp on the mangaka's behind to keep them ahead of the anime. Sailor Moon for most of its run (the filler arc in R aside). Good: no need for filler. Bad: kinda hard to do, since usually the mangaka doesn't answer to the people writing the anime, and even if they do they can be temperamental artis...
