| plus I can sell the game without haveing to post the source code, thus protecting my "intellectual property" in the process. That comment makes zero sense whatsoever, the LGPL, and GPL for that matter, don't force you to make data files freely available. And if you want a good combat oriented engin... |

| GCC, it's free software (free as in speach, not beer) http://www.gnu.org it's the best C/C++ compiler out there, one more thing, why waste money when there are perfectly good opensource engines available? | There's one thing that I would truely love to see in a dating sim, source code. You needn't release the entire game to the public, only the engine. Like Id is doing with nearly all of their old games, give the engine code away, but keep the data files. |

| I see, so it's not free software then. I'll admit that most PC users use Windows, but that's not a good enough reason to not port the game, also if you have no plans to sell your games, then why keep them proprietary? |
