Re:  Princess Debut (A Dating Sim?) Coming Stateside!
Yesterday I came across that Atlus forum. Is it just me, or are people really hostile there? o_O While I like many of Atlus USA's games, I've always found their employees and forum members to be extremely arrogant (simultaneously, many of these idiots know nothing about the game market/industry, de...

Looks like a new in-house development. I don't think Natsume has done one of those in ages.

Re: Mangagamer.com
The thing people are objecting to with the DRM is that it's got a fairly limited number of activations, which can be burned up by moving files around your hard drive, and then you have to buy it again if you want to play it again. That's the biggest complaint, but it seems that many people are unha...

Re: Things which are annoying for fans...
It takes much less time (work) to translate an anime than to translate a game. Busy translators choose the anime. Especially them visual novels--the amount of text in those things is enormous. It's impressive to me that any of them get translated at all. I think a difference in skillset is another ...

Re: Hirameki gone
As of last winter, the company was still alive. However, they've withdrawn from the visual novel business.By the way, did HIRAMEKI get bankrupt or what?

It doesn't exist.-Where can I get the first one (english ver)?
AFAIK, there's a partial fan translation for the MSX port, but I'm not sure how playable it is.

Re: Who is the toughest boss you've ever faced in an RPG Game?
Haven't actually seen either of these guys but apparently they are about 10-15 times harder than the final boss...anyone who's played these two bosses, any thougts? It's been over ten years since I played FFVII, but I think secret items were required to beat those bosses. Those fights became straig...

Re: If it had been acceptable in the 80s...
PC Games are a 'small niche' in Japan. Sure, they make a lot of VNs. But I believe it's not a mass-market thing, it's more on a par with - say - the pen-and-paper roleplaying industry in the west. That's about it, really. Since PC games aren't mainstream in Japan, it's no wonder that niche product ...

Re: If it had been acceptable in the 80s...
there weren't many -- or even any -- H games before 1992 that people who weren't dedicated moetards would talk about with their friends. This document and Wikipedia's history of bishoujo games suggest that the category didn't have a whole lot of acceptance until at least the mid 90s. Even now, the ...

Re: What console are you using now?
For me, it's mainly the Nintendo DS. Nowadays, few console games interest me. However, DS game developers are actually delivering content that I like (also, I think that most Japanese developers are better suited to DS or PSP development. Many teams struggle with the complexity of today's consoles, ...

Re: Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis
Sweet music indeed. Is the soundtrack included with the game? Atlus does that sometimes with their releases. This is actually a Nippon Ichi USA release (the company has no direct relationship with Atlus USA anymore, and the releases are generally less elaborate), but yeah, they included a soundtrac...

Re: Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis
I guess I'll have to import Mana Khemia too. Is it worth importing? How much do you like Gust games (Atelier series, Ar Tonelico)? Fans of the Iris series love Mana Khemia for the new game systems. However, many other RPG fans (including me) are lukewarm on the quality of their products. IMO, Mana ...

Annoyance #3: finding information about an untranslated game *in English* on the company's own site, but knowing there's only a one percent chance the game will be translated. I found an example of this today at http://red-entertainment.co.jp/eng That site discusses the Sakura Taisen series, and if...

By my book, any information is worth tracking (for the sake of completion, this is certainly interesting enough). Nevertheless, this subject sounds rather difficult to cover.

Re: Fate Stay Night [UBW patch; DS demo; about downloads...]
Something else remarkable: while searching, I read a message on a homebrew DS site that talked about this project. It stated, "The game [F/SN demo on DS] has been downloaded almost 1,000 times! Thanks, but now I'm running out of bandwidth!" That seems remarkable. I recall someone saying t...
