Re: Nobility Ranking systems in different cultures
I'm no expert nut 'Sultan' is a title in plenty of historical governments. You might try a little research starting from some of these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Royal_and_noble_ranks_of_West,_Central,_and_Southern_Asia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ottoman_titles_and_appellati...

Re: Debunk Me: Gods, Demons and Spirits
What about things like imaginary friends? How would you explain this? They are not like gods, neither spirits but for example insane people have very strong believe that things that they imagine are real. And really how much of them would exist? Children often believe in things and imagine some peo...

Re: The role of a magus in classical - medieval wars
In my world building not everyone is capable of using magic (1 in every 1000 people) so as not to hinder the motivation for advancement in technology technology = for common people magic = for magic capable people so i am not sure whether i can apply technology analogue to magecraft but what do you ...

Re: Map creator/generator and advice
I used to do a lot of maps for games etc. I did have a full custom set of brushes I used for maps but I seem to have lost most of them in a dead-computer. However my recent ones are in the attached file. They're all made by me (I think) so feel free to use for whatever. There aren't many here and t...

Re: The role of a magus in classical - medieval wars
You've talked a lot about what magic can't do, but what CAN it do? Can magic be used to see a long way away? Every general now has a mage to scry on the enemy's position and determine their troop movements. Can magic be used to change the weather? No Army ever marches through rain ever again. Can m...

The role of a magus in classical - medieval wars
So i was having trouble writing about this for a week now my story is more inline with realistic history (with wars being an ugly hell, Knights not being as shiny as we thought they were) During this week i was always asking myself "what would the role of magecraft or a magus have in war? and h...

Re: Map creator/generator and advice
I assume from your screenshot you're talking about a world map graphic/diagram, as opposed to a tiled navigable map, right? I've seen Campaign Cartographer ( https://secure.profantasy.com/products/cc3.asp ) recommended although it is paid software and I've never used it myself. Yes, this one is jus...
