Re: Analogue: A Hate Story

Hmm, I guess I should give it a try, even though I probably won't get any buyer XD
Why do I feel like I may ended up shooting myself in the foot? Oh well XD;;;

That's kinda the reason why I am still hesitating of putting my games in Desura. They don't seem to be friendly when it comes to VN, let alone otome games. The comments there so far are rather harsh, and they all like to have 9 usd games.

Re: Visual Novel Let's Plays

1) How do you feel about people (potentially) doing an LP of a game you've made? I have seen LP of X-note and Train of Afterlife, and I couldn't be happier. They made very good reviews and I can see how people feel about the game real time! Best of all, they are really fun to watch. Some of them act...

It's kinda sad that if I think about it, all you need is to capture eyes of a few individuals to actually get famous.

Re: Artists that took on something else? O:

I read some post that LWR wrote that doing anime-style stuff in art school can... drop me out. XD They don't kick you out for drawing anime. They just might flunk you in that class. Or be stubborn like me, and prove all the teachers wrong :lol: Yes, many teachers hate anime, but that's because most...

Re: Protagonists that you would appreciate

Any character that can make me laugh would attract me. Add in some depth and mystery, I'm sold. This doesn't just apply to main characters, it applies to any characters.

(I'm simply as that lol, strangely enough, I almost never seen characters in EVN that fit the bill. Am I such a minority?)

Donno about that. Thus far, I absolutely have no luck with "professional" reviewers. And I have people threatening me not to buy my games because they have seen unfavorable review of it. *shrug

Re: Player Interaction in a Story

I advocate using the two together - reading and gaming - because interactive decision making is the ONLY strength VNs have over other mediums. Books do writing better, manga does writing and art better, anime and movies do pure graphic story-telling better, etc. The only advantage VNs have is the a...

Re: The argument against Generic Games

...I also wish more people would include description and narrative summary in their visual "novels", especially for conveying action. DX A novel isn't made up of just dialogue; that's closer to being a screenplay. /tangent No, just no. So many VN turns me off from being too descriptive. I...

Re: Question about doing both the art and writing for a game

I usually go with: Idea > Sprite > Outline > Music > Script/GUI/CG/Background > Programming > SFX > Testing > Release Idea: Well, I think all of us start with this. Sprite: They usually get me the most excited. Looking at how the character comes to live. Outline: Put more details to general idea. Mu...

@Stargirl18
Why would you need a guide for the demo? The guide would be useless if you didn't buy the game.
I don't think you can obtain all the endings in the demo. That wouldn't be called a demo if you can.

Yay, it's released~! Throws confetti~! XD

I wonder who would be the most popular character? It's too easy to guess with Cafe 0, but harder to guess with Duplicity. :P
My favorite character is Alexander... /joke
