Of course, every now and then the copyright holder will come down hard on free fanworks anyway. Some owners are more protective than others.

When the end goal is "get people to discuss all the games" rather than "pick the best game", any sort of winnowing is obviously counter-productive. I don't care about the winner, I care about the conversation, the prize is just to get people to participate. I also argue that any ...

And as I explained many times, I strongly object to the concept of a 'panel of judges', so I guess that's that. Oh well. :)

... uh, basically, is there sufficient interest in doing the "make a VN with limited shared resources" contest a second time? It wouldn't be for quite a while, but if we're going to do it again I'll need lead time to get graphics commissioned. If we go ahead with it, this contest would gen...

A lot of what's being discussed there isn't entirely relevant to the VN scene, especially the hobbyist VN scene. There's a big difference between someone setting out to write a romance game which is entirely about specific characters and their relationships (including the sex appeal element) and som...

I'm working on one, but it'll be commercial. But surely I can't be the only developer who thinks there needs to be more GxG that isn't "gratuitous" so to speak? There are/were several in progress announced at some point, it's just that the completion rate for GxG projects has been pretty ...

Many of the commercial games have GxG paths, although how many varies - generally one to three. There's not a lot that's pure GxG with multiple options at the moment other than Spirited Heart Girls Love. Try the demo of that and see how you like it? There's a free 18+ GxG game (Sugar's Delight) but ...

I've played Magical Diary, and I love the teacher. x3 Thank you though~ I suppose there aren't many fangirls for him, are there? D: Everyone always looks at me odd when I say that. xD The majority of MD fanfic is Grabiner-based. The fans of the other boys tend to pout about how Grabby gets all the l...

I'm sure this has been thought of before, so apologies if this is a repeat, but "EVN Dev Story" (like Game Dev Story) except you, of course, are a struggling VN developer. One kind of exists, I think? "Infinite Game Works"? Haven't played it though, I'm not sure how much it focu...

There is a huge variety of endings... there just isn't a huge variety of ending graphics . What happens to Elodie, what happens to all her relatives, who she marries, who she sleeps with and DOESN'T marry, whether she has kids and how many, how the country's relations with its neighbors develop, whe...

I replaced the video a couple days ago, so the voice quality is slightly better now, I hope. :)

I'm working on getting a proper trailer made but it'll be a while.

mugen - check the adult creator discussion forum, there's been some good discussions already on what at least some female players would like to see.

Big news on the ero-forums today - apparently a new official translator has rolled into town, bringing with it a very recent Japanese title. If My Heart Had Wings Looks pretty, although not really my kind of game. I'll probably go for it anyway just to have a better look at what more-modern games ar...

Considering the immense popularity of tsunderes with male players, I don't see what your chromosomes have to do with failing to understand the appeal. :) It's a similar spectrum.

That said, I'm trying to think about men who write stories and games which women enjoy. I'm having trouble thinking of any... Can you name a few guys whose works primarily appeal to women? I don't want to name names, but there have been successful romance novel authors who were male but wrote under...
