Re: Jobs
I used to be an exercise trainer/receptionist for the franchise Curves, but, our boss was bad with money so she shut down the place I worked at and moved away. :< Been looking for another job, but since my experience is more specialized I don't really have a lot of qualifications... College is a job...

Re: Conventions?
The only con in my area doesn't start till this November ;_; Booo.... But, I'm the artist for it so I get free tickets! Yaaay! I heard before that 60% of people have had dysfunctional childhoods/families. Whether it's true or not I don't know. It's common these days to have some kind of traumatic li...

Re: Non-anime, non-romance VN?
The style won't matter if it's a good game overall (unless the artwork is so awful or plain that it distracts from the game, of course). It'd be nice to see some more games that are more like the old adventure games in a newer style. Your artist is very talented! :D I'm interested in how she'll draw...

Re: R.I.P Bandai
I despise the dub they did of K-ON. All the voices sound like the same 40 year old woman trying to do higher or lower pitches. Just... awful. (I've never watched a dub where they get the cute voices right, though...) Their dub of Haruhi was acceptable, but, still... bleh. Anyways: is the entire comp...

Re: Art/anime/game related careers=dead end?
I stopped wanting to be a professional artist awhile ago for many of the reasons already mentioned... I then tried computer programming, but it just wasn't for me- from my experience it's similar to art, you can learn it but it's easier to learn if you have the right mindset for it. (Mostly patience...

Re: Why, IMO, it's hard finding a game to like as a female g
This is the "women = bad" logic that is sexist, and it keeps popping up in this thread like it's a scientific fact. It's not genetic, it's because of how society defined "woman things," and lack of empathy towards that gender as a whole. Whoa there. I never said "women=bad&...

Re: Why, IMO, it's hard finding a game to like as a female g
For instance, I was honestly thinking about this discussion and realized that even I am sexist against women, to a certain degree. My entire life I have basically been told that men are better, and thus I need to be a man to be worth anything. So, my thought process goes something like this: "...

Re: Why, IMO, it's hard finding a game to like as a female g
@papillon: I don't think you got my point... I meant to make the connection between how people think game making companies are sexist with how Christmas is more prominent. I should have stated it like this: Just because a company is catering to one holiday/gender/ect does not mean they think other h...

Re: Shattered Eternity [Sci-Fi][Apocalyptic Future]
I assumed the work on Danbooru had permission to be placed there, and thus allowed to be used by the public if proper credit was given and for non- commercial purposes. :X I visit danbooru often and I have never seen anything that said you could use the pictures... The site is for sharing pictures,...

Re: Why, IMO, it's hard finding a game to like as a female g
I too am really bothered by the "privileged" thing. Personally the only privilege I get from having a more male brain is that I could care less about the genders in my media. However for the rest of my life it's not that great- I can't fit in with other females because I simply cannot unde...

Re: Shattered Eternity [Sci-Fi][Apocalyptic Future]
Also, do you have permission from the artists to use their art? It's pretty obvious that you've modified some things (hair color, added jewelry, ect). Most artists don't allow you to modify their artwork without permission.

Re: A Visual Novel WITHOUT CGs
The point still stands that in this context, pictures are pictures, regardless of if they're characters, backgrounds, whatever. If you don't specify the type of "pictures" people won't know what you're talking about. While "CG" isn't really the best term (it simply means "c...

Re: TrickxTreat! (A Magical BxG game) DEMO UP
Thanks for more feedback! I have to be honest I haven't worked on this project for awhile. I'm hoping to re-do some of the art and make a more meaty story than before if I begin working on it again. It's mostly being stalled because of its holiday theme- I've been working on other games (mostly not ...

Re: Best non japanese cartoons?
@Mink: Madoka is one of those shows you either like or don't. What I liked about it is the intense relationships between the characters, the twists, and the melancholic tone it had. I wouldn't say it's the most original amazing anime ever (the artstyle was weird to me too as well), but, I really enj...

Re: Best non japanese cartoons?
I actually prefer a lot of non-japanese cartoons... A lot of animes these days are poorly made in a quick fashion solely for profit. That's why there's tons of them! My little pony friendship is magic: cause im totes gay. That's kind of offensive, dude. A lot of people like MLP:FIM, gay or not- I kn...
