I think you can do better with the textbox - as it is the color doesn't really suit your (really pretty) MC. And it'll look better if you extend it all the way under the side image. I have an idea for a rather ugly workaround I think... Can you maybe put a Jump to a little label where you set the variable and then jump to test_button from there? I don't know whether it's possible to get this i into the name of the label the Jump goes too... But maybe you can try? Like something...

Ah... you're a genius! Thank you for putting me out of my misery... Why didn't I think of that??? And here I was, trying for two hours to somehow assign that expression to vname as a string and evaluate it when it is used in the text... Or something along those lines... Hm... I think I found an issue here, but maybe it was just me, who wasn't aware of this... You have to do this again, whenever you want to check whether the lovepoints or whatever have changed, because once this vname is stored, it won't check again, and it also probably won't randomize again. Just put the renpy.input before everything else. It makes sense to have that somewhere in the beginning of the game... and it should also be before, because otherwise renpy can't know what player_name is.
