Re: AnimeFest 2016 (Aug 12-15) Dallas
Alright, AnimeFest has posted a list of approved panels. The trailer showcase isn't on it, but I'll try to find a place to show off trailers anyway. Here's the current list of approved panels related to VNs. Not all of these are mine. Making Visual Novels - Any creators are welcome to come. It's an ...

Re: Voiceacting in Commercial VNs-- do you?
As a player, I'm picky about the quality of voices. If I don't like the first few minutes, I usually mute them. However, I do get pretty sad if there aren't any voices at all, and knowing a game is voiced makes me more likely to pick it up in the first place. Full disclosure: My other job is casting...

Re: Seeking artist(s) for Otome Game
I asked him and he says he's open to ideas, but I'll preemptively say that he's probably looking for at least some anime influence and he likes bright colors.フリークェンシー wrote:Do you have any examples for what you're looking for?

Re: Seeking artist(s) for Otome Game
Hello there ^^ Is that possible to have some more details about the project, for example if it's a slice of life/school/magical/whatever themed? Or how much time the artist must be available per week? It's a slice of life with a very limited fantasy aspect. One of the characters is a spirit, but it...

Re: The Importance of Conventions
I sell at conventions pretty regularly. Anime conventions are great. I usually make back what I spent on the table. Sci-fi and comic book conventions are not so great (for sales, at least). I can't say exactly why the difference, but it's definitely there. Over the years, I've seen more and more peo...

Re: AnimeFest 2016 (Aug 12-15) Dallas
With AnimeFest only a couple months out, I'm putting the call out (or at least the heads up) for trailer submissions for the visual novel showcase. Last year, we showed off a ton of trailers for VNs, and the panel went over really well. I'd like to do the same again this year. I'll post a general th...

Re: Visual Novel Zine [Interest Check]
I think it would be fun. I remember really enjoying BTW back when they published it, and I always hoped to see another 'zine appear someday.

Re: AnimeFest 2016 (Aug 12-15) Dallas
As is usually the case, I will have a table in the dealer's room. Anyone is welcome to stop by and say hi. We'll also be running various panels - details to come later - but we'll very likely reprise the visual novel showcase panel, so be thinking about making a trailer for your new or upcoming VNs ...

Re: Where are Steam Achievments Stored?
I definitely unlocked a ton of CGs for people last year by doing that, so I'm pretty cautious about it now. I don't think I forgot to delete this time around, but I re-uploaded a new folder just in case.

Where are Steam Achievments Stored?
I had assumed that Steam Achievements were stored in the persistent data, but one of my players just got all of my achievements after my most recent update. I deleted the saves folder before I updated. Is there anything else I'm missing?

Re: NaNoWriMo 2015!
I am a master of bad life choices, so I'm all in. (Actually, work has done weird things with my hours, so it's a way to fill in space when I can't work on my VNs). Hopefully it works out? I'm kind of making it up as I go, which is terrible and I never advise it, but here I am doing it anyway. Ha.

I bake a lot and make bento. Anything food-related that's also pretty. I'm also a sucker for dance games - DDR is my jam, ITG is fine too. Lately I've been frittering away my free time on P4: Dancing All Night.

Re: About voice actors and budgets
I do have a last question, if you can answer it: do you make the stated work in a home-studio, or in an external recording studio? I've heard about multiple issues with rating per recording time when using home-studio equipment, and I'm curious. Both. I have a home studio that sounds pretty good, b...

Re: About voice actors and budgets
I am a voice actor/director. I've cast and directed several projects of varying mediums, but I'll limit my answers to video games as much as I can. How do you measure your work? Per lines? Per word? Recording time? Per hour, usually, often with a certain minimum based on line count. The hourly rate ...
