CRS Escape! Ludum Dare #21 Project

#1 Post by SusanTheCat »

Woah! I actually completed a game. Now I need play testers.

You wake up without knowing what happened! You explore the area and try to find a means of escape.

Similar the old text based games. "Bedlam" in particular.

Made in 48 hours for Ludum Dare

Mac Version
Windows 32bit

Statistics:

The game contains 60 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 368 words,
for an average of 6.1 words per screen.
The game contains 14 menus.

Really short game. If you know what you are doing it takes less than 10 min. I would think about an hour tops. (But I made the game)

Agggh, I keep drowning before I can turn into a shark...(I assume it's a shark).

Interesting game though. And especially good considering the time constraints.

Hint:
Cats move faster than raccoons!
Thanks for playing. My son got stuck there too. I have to make it more obvious how much time passes between movements.

Yes it is a shark. :) I should have drawn him more head on.

Wow, this is pretty good. Can't wait to peek under the covers when I'm done to see what's making it all tick. You did what I struggled to do: actual Mystlike adventure game puzzles.

I got fairly far,
figured out the machine, got to the control room, pushed the button as a raccoon and assumed that unblocked the metal barring the wet room, but I ran out of air and died before I could become a shark. I'M A SHARK! I'M A SHARK! S ... no.
I will enjoy playing this more later. What a unique cast you have! I'm really curious as to
what that garbled PA message is
but it's good incentive.
I'm not even the same person anymore

In reality, the garbled PA message is me making random Sims-eque noises.

In the story, it is the warning system saying that the lab is about to implode. Since you're a cat, you don't know what it is saying.

I debated having the timer count down instead of up. But I decided that
"Chimera"
wouldn't know how much time he had left.

YAY! You are the first person who mentioned the cake.

This weekend I'm going to work on some CGs for the game and credits when you actually succeed.

After that I want to add more story to it.

I am uploading new version of the game that include an ending CG.

If you don't want to play the game again just to see the CG, you can see it here: http://www.thecatsweb.com/copper/albums ... _shark.jpg

Statistics:
The game contains 61 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 372 words,
for an average of 6.1 words per screen.
The game contains 14 menus.

It might take awhile to upload. :/
All Uploaded!

This game is pretty unique (:
One of the few VNs that allows you to play as an animal and in this case,
I could play as three different animals with different abilities.
There's only one thing.. I've tried a few times but I can't escape (x
Is there a guide I could follow? If not, I'll just try again(:

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

Here are the hint:
Cats are faster than raccoons.
Here is the walk-through
Change to raccoon.
Open the lid on the button.
Change to cat.
Push the button.
Quickly change to shark since the lab is now filling up with water.
As the shark, swim to engineering and go out the airlock.
Thanks for playing!
