A girl enters a country with no people...A country with no color.

A really short fairytale I wrote which was actually a dream I had about a year ago, I was so...*inspired?* by it that I decided to type it up and make a short KN out of it.

Length: around 5 minutes if you're lucky.

All backgrounds are drawn by me!

I hope you guys enjoy it and please be sure to tell me your thoughts on it! :) Have a wonderful day~!

I used Novelty to make it, so it ONLY WORKS ON WINDOWS! ( If you have any problems playing it, just ask me and I'll try to help!)

NEW NEW DOWNLOAD LINK~~~~ http://www.mediafire.com/?689s9w1fh6tqttc

Side note~ How neat! This is my 400th post~!

The required file is still not there. You must be doing something wrong while exporting your VN. I noted it had the player.exe file, which is normally not exported.

I've zipped and attached the fmodex.dll file. Folks can unzip it and paste it into the folder where they uncompressed the visual novel.

Poorly done hand drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

I got the same error message when I tried to close the visual novel before completing it.

Oh okay! Yeah, it did that to me too...So I guess just make sure not to close the VN while playing it? (Its short, and to skip you just have to press A) I'm looking for a way to fix it, but it may just be Novelty acting up...

See previous comment: "You must be doing something wrong while exporting your VN. I noted it had the player.exe file, which is normally not exported. "

When you export a visual novel in Novelty you should have the following files:. a file with the exe extension, a file with the nvz extension (these files will have the same filename), and the fmodex.dll file. There might also be a log.txt file

I suspect if you can successfully export the VN with your own fmodex.dll file it should be fine. You might want to consider going to the Novelty forums to get help.

BTW, congratulations on making a kinetic novel.

If you download the link I just uploaded, it should have the fmodex.dll file in it ( and when I export a novel, it always only shows up with just the exe. file, not sure why, but all of my VN's so far, I've had to add all the other files in manually.)

Here's a step by step procedure for exporting your game as a standalone using Novelty.

1. Create a new folder somewhere easy for you to find on your hard drive. Give it a name that you can remember, such as fatedgame.
2. Open your visual novel.
3. Click on the word “File” on the command line (top of your screen)
4. In the drop down menu click on the word “Export”
5. A side menu will appear. Click on “Stand alone game”.
6.A new window will appear that says “Export as stand-alone”.
7.In that window you should see two tabs near the top, one says Export, the other says Options.
8. Click on the “Options” tab.
9. You should see two check boxes, one says Compile contents, the other says Copy video files. Place a check mark in each box.
10. Click on the “Export” tab (to the left of the “Options” tab).
11. Click on the button that says “Change”.
12. This opens a window named “Set stand alone file name”
13. Navigate to the folder you created in Step 1.
14. Key in a name for your visual novel, such as ‘fated’. The “save as type” should be “Novelty executable (exe)”. Do not change it.
15. Click on the “Save” button. This closes the “Set stand alone file name” window.
16. In the “Export as stand-alone” window, click on the “Export” button (it’s at the bottom of the window).
17. You should get a pop up window that says “Export completed” It will have “Yes” and “No” buttons in it. If you want to play the game, click “Yes”, otherwise click “No”.
18. Assuming you clicked “No” you’ll return to the “Export as stand-alone” window. Click the “close” button.
19. Close Novelty and navigate to the folder that you created in Step 1. You should see two files in that folder, a file with the name that you typed in in step 14, and a file named fmodex. Select both of those files, and use your favorite file compression program to zip them into one file.. Upload the zipped file to Lemmasoft forums (or wherever).
If this doesn't work, I suggest that youmake a post in the bug reporting thread over at the Novelty forums.

It worked if you play it all the way through and then quits using the button on the main screen. Next time you might want to consider not covering up the default interface.
