Image Hello! Welcome to the Magical Boutique! My name is Framboise and I will be your guide.

She opens the door and lets you in.

Image We have just opened, eheh... don't mind the stuff laying around...
Now, I've been told it wasn't particularly obvious how the shop worked, for newcomers. So here's how it goes :

She starts pointing at various things in the shop, while explaining:

Image The shop is based on a daily routine. Every day, our owner assigns tasks to us (and himself). We do our best to complete them! Let's see... I'm a gatherer for example, so our owner tells me where to gather and I bring back ingredients. At that point, the owner, who is a talented brewer, can make new potions using the ingredients.

She takes a breath

Image And at the end of the day, we look at the sales. If a potion has sold particularly well, it might be good to brew more of it the next day.

Framboise smiles and brings you back to the door and waves.

Image Well that's all for this little tour! There's more to our shop than this but I'm sure you will enjoy discovering it by yourselves. Eheh... goodbye!

You can post as attachments on the forums...I mean...

10mb for a 1.5 hours game (single run-through, my last testing took 2.5 hours).

It's small, it's a Ren'Py game, and it has uber loads and loads of traditional Visual Novel storytelling.

Post the distro...although we all know how much you love megaupload :D

This isn't a demo anymore, and all assetts are now original, so yeah. :D

It's not that I love megaupload... >.>... I.... arr, okay, we're getting married soon, but still!

Anyway, *cough*, first Windows version through megaupload ready. Going to attach the same version to the forums now. Will follow linux and mac versions.

Argh... ok my connection sucks so darn much right now @_@... I'll have to wait for tonight to upload the other versions I think :/. Windows users, enjoy... Other users, either wait or use the files in a Ren'Py 6.1.0c environment ^^;

Congratulations, well done!!

Too bad my computer restarted during the download from MU, and now it thinks that I am simultaneously downloading, so I'll need to wait for the forum version.

EDIT: oh, it's here already! muhahaha!

But it's great that this is finished, congratulations to you guys!! I can't wait to try it out. I've been more or less ignoring the forum thread for just this reason - when it does come out, I'll have many things to discover ^_^.

Just going to test this and hope it still works ^_^.
If it does, I can sleep easy.

Congratulations! It's been great working with you on this, let's get back for Magical Boutique 2.0!

KNOWN BUGS:

- random pauses during resolution phase...just move mouse
- rollback known to sometimes knock out of track...use rollback sparingly

Just give a few days for public playtesting, then I can torrent sometime later this week.

Aaaah, this is so cute, so nice to play! Of course I don't have half an idea what I am doing and just clicking something because I'm so bad with these types of games, but who cares! It's a nice atmosphere, and you have the VN parts...

In any case, I'm so happy for you guys, it's great that two of our most active members have released a full game, and that you've managed to come back to it and make it through.

Great fairytale-ish graphics, they make up a lot of the atmosphere, as well as the customized menus which are so fitting somehow. Even the VN/NVL mode is inventive, with the indentations and colors and then the comic-style bubbles for the non-VN parts... very well done and so small!

this.Incentives[FINISH_NANORENO].Add(new Game("Magical Boutique"));

I'll download and play it later - like, April later. ;-)

I'm looking forward to it, though; it was a fun enough thing to play the last time I saw it, if it's pronounced 'finished' I can only imagine it'll be better! And I love the look of the screenshots there - the kind of blend of French-comics and manga stylings on the characters looks pretty good!

Two minor criticisms just from the screenshots, though - 'Pom' looks like 'Porn' due to JPEG artifacts and Framboise looks like a strawberry. ;-)

Yep, don't rollback (nor even save for that matter  ) during the Taxcollector VN event...its really going to screw the sequencing. Instead, just play it through until you go back to normality. Hopefully we figure this fix out...it's been bugging us for a while :?

Hmmm....you definitely know you got locked out of the sequence if you keep the same daily routine until Day 120. Just an overview of the whole game, you should already be triggering the Ending around Day 100.

*starts to get worried now
Hopefully this doesn't occur too often. You know the feeling when you know the projector works, then comes the day of the presentation, and the projector doesn't work? Yeah, that feeling. :?

Looks good so far... although I ran into a bug first minute into the game!

I get to the point where I am showing Framboise the room and I get a box "Call me Dalmaryon_". Nothing I do seems to make the dialog progress.
