Daisuki Da Yo - In spring[Slice of Life][GXB][Otome]

#1 Post by mitsukeru73 »

I'm a Ren'Py newbie and a noob at game creating. But I put my heart and soul my first game, it's a simple free otome game without complex storyplots or branching...It may not have great Cg but hope you'll like it. ^_^

In the story, Midori Aichi is an ordinary girl who had a crush on Saito sempai...then the story plots of the VN varies depends on what kind of route you have, you might expereince tangled love triangle, or romance comedy with tsundere sempai....

The design of the character Midori is based on Homura...
I love Homura's uniform nyan~~
but I add many cuteness and 'chibiness" to Midori~~

Daisuki Da Yo -In spring

It's my first renpy game and it's quite short and simple, and I would love to hear your feedbacks on it. It's okay to be honest and harsh if you're going to give me suggestions. ^_^

Aww....I'm so nervous..>.<

Don't be nervous. Everyone has their first time!

Making a first game is really difficult, specially if you don't know coding and are making everything from the start. But everyone here at the forum are kind and can help if you have questions. I'm working on my first VN too, so, I know what you're feeling! Taking a look at your screenshots, the game looks simple, clean, and the guys/Midori looks adorable.

After work, I'll try to give it a try and write a proper review. xD

Hey. Just got done playing this game. I must say that this is a good job for a first game. Very cute. The art was nice, and the story was enjoyable. There were errors though, but I didn't really mind. The only thing that was a bit off putting was when she did the noise when surprised. Besides that, I liked this short game. Very cute, and was fun to play. Nice job with your first game :)

^_^ I feel so happy to hear that you like it.
Sorry for the errors in the game...proofreading my script and codes makes my head dizzy and I'm so sorry for my careless...

^_^ May I ask what ending you got? (>.< can't controll my curiosity ...)

Before making the game, Iwas a total noob (I'm still is a noob..only less "noobier" than before). But I really enjoy making the game and research for all the solutions to the problems I encountered.I feel really nervous but I feel very happy after reading your comment. ^_^

Looking forward to play your VN once it's released. ^_^

hey, not to be a downer, but if you use free sprites you should credit the original artist.

I already credited ^_^
Evidence: Go to the game folder, there would be a text document named "LICENSE AND CREDIT" OR "CREDIT".

I was going to add them in the game screen, like the end of the movie with all the credits and stuff. But I don't know how (cause I'm a noob at that time) and I read some member's post that I can put it in a text document .^_^

Do I need to credit them in this thread too? Then sorry I didn't know I need to, didn't think of that because I already credited them in that text doc.

Well, I'll put credit here too.
Sprites: Senji4
(BG, music..etc..that's a long list, you can see all the credits and links in the text document I mentioned.)

But thanks anyway for pointing that out, I'll be more careful next time. ^_^

Wow, looks promising! I'm downloading the game now.
For your first game, this looks colorful. That's better than mine. /which haven't even been uploaded yet/
I really need to get the two last screenshots. XD

From what I know, you must wrote the credit in the thread too. To avoid misunderstanding.

Okay, so I'm playing the game...first of all, the load screen looks like this:
eh1.PNG
Which is kind of disturbing. The buttons worked so I don't have any problems.
I play the beginning.
I choose to talk to senpai.
I have the habit to save game early, especially if it's otome/dating sim game. When I click my right mouse, this appears:
eh2.PNG
Also, because of the load/save screen like that, after saving the game, I can't press the return button (because it's located in one of the save/load boxes)...
I don't know, maybe this only happens to me? o.0

>.< Sorry for the errors ,I never click save or load when I was testing the game so I never knew that there was such an error. I'm so sorry.
Thank you for reporting them, I'll fix it right away. Hopefully that I'll finish it today and put the new download files.

For the time being, maybe you can proceed tha game without saving ? The game's playtime is around 15 min and it's a very short simple game.

Again, I'm sorry for the problem and thank you so much for teling me about it. ^_^

Oh, ok! Didn't realized you credited in a text document. I'm not sure that you strictly *need* to source stuff on the thread's original post, but it definitely helps.

but congrats on your release!! School themed games aren't really my thing (it feels weird playing them 'cause I graduated high school years ago, it makes me feel like a creep haha) but this is a great first work! It's good to go for shorter stories when you're still learning, (I did not do this....it is taking FOREVER!) so you made really good choices on how to keep the game from getting away from you.
I hope you'll continue to make games in the future!! :D
