Let's say you got some information about somebody intending to assault your penthouse with the aim of stealing your computer and all the encrypted data in it. It'll probably be a small team, but well-prepared. So you decide you should be ready as well. You buy a couple of expensive security robots to patrol the many hallways. You arm your mooks to the teeth and booby trap the ventilation shafts.

But you're not scared of them and hiding and waiting sucks anyway. So you decide to get proactive. What will you do? Choose one, or add your own option in the comments.
  • Kidnap one of their loved ones
  • Try to sabotage their equipment before they get to your place
  • Hire an anti-team-team of killers
  • Try to feed them false information so that they'd attack some other place
  • Win them over with a favour or a bribe
  • Face them, head on like an end-boss would
  • Put a curse on them and hope their Luck -3 gets them killed
  • Try to bribe just one of them, to turn against the others
  • Infect them with a deadly disease, offering cure for cooperation

I would probably:
-Face them, head on like an end boss would

As an extension of that, what I would really do is trap them and then kill them. They may be prepared, but I know they are coming. Explosion, poison, starvation, my options are quite varied once I have them like fish in a barrel.

Oh, oh! I have plenty of ideas!

-Catch one of them while he's in WC, and then slowly cut his limbs. Then mail his parts to others as a warning.
-Call my friend, he's as evil and crazy as I am =D
-Build a BFG. Even if it won't work, they'll probably just be scared and go away.
-Just take a anti-tank rifle and shoot them.
-Why the hell don't I just move to another town? =D

This sounds like fun.

- Put non-lethal, but nasty traps all over the place and film the result until they finally have what they want.
- And how they get out of the house using another route, because I closed the one they came from.
- After that imagine their expression when finding out what they stole is completely worthless - by watching the video I took of them on youtube.

I'm not that much for violence and killing, it's more fun to ridicule your enemy anyway.

Hmm......

Well, depending on how important this building is versus the computer and data, I would just move the computer and all important data and leave a dummy computer. Wait until they are all inside and blow up the building.

Or....depending on how gifted these people are. I'd lock them in, gas them, brain wash them into thinking they work for me and send them back to kill whatever organization they worked for.

I would hire an anti-team-team of killers. A good battle between them would be a great show o3o also while they're fighting, I would run away with all my data

- Infect them with a deadly disease, offering cure for cooperation

And then I wouldn't give them the cure. XD

Orrr...
- Transfer all my data to another computer and fix the old one so that it automatically explodes and annihilates anything within a 200-meter radius when it is opened.

I like the bribery option. Turning someone on others is always fun… (it' better if it's done by psychological mindgames and not money, though)

Move all the real data to somewhere more secure. Place a computer containing encrypted, but partially inaccurate information in the penthouse: information that I know the hero knows, the payoff records for a corrupted official who has double-crossed me, and the security plans for a couple super-secret projects. (One of which is a rival's project, that I intend to raid after the hero has softened them up for me; the other of which is a trap.) Pull all of my mooks out and hire a legit private security company, or, if possible, the local police to provide security.

Have a mook tape the evening news for me; I intend to cackle maniacally when the news anchors start listing the hero's crimes beside a composite sketch. Or possibly to curse and shoot the television screen if the sketch doesn't resemble one of the hero's party.

What would I do? Hm... Good question...

1. Swap the files on the computer with a virus and secure the actual files somewhere safe.
2. Evacuate the premises and let them steal the computer with the virus on it.
3. Laugh manically at fail-robbers. Success!

Mwahahahaha!!!

Exactly what I thought of. I'm also a fan of leaving half-dead bodies of their comrades with explosives embedded in their insides in the hallways. Wait until they get close to render aid, then turn them into a pink mist. Also, arming your minions with automatic shotguns and having a maze of twisting halls is a great idea as well.

I like the kidnapping option. Can it be an orphan? Everything's better with orphans.

OR, program all data into my evil attack dog's brain (don't ask how). Let's watch them try to steal a computer with teeth.

Alternatively, it could be an evil attack bear... I imagine they're even harder to take down. ^_^
