Fatal Hearts. Me and my brother played it when I was in elementary and we loved it until now. My brother, who is in college at the moment, stills enjoys it until now, saying he would like to feel as if he was a cult killer of sorts. XD

The one that got me on making VNs/KNs though is the Fantasia series. I dunno how, I ... forgot. XD

Oh boy...I think it was the Ace Attorney series because I don't remember picking up on any VNs until I got my DS. Ever since I played the game, I loved VNs (unfortunately many of the ones I wanted to try were never translated in to English. >U)

I played Lux-Pain (bad translation, but I replayed it like...three times. The voices got me. The story didn't really confuse me) and then I played Time Hollow afterward (short, but okay). I tried Hotel Dusk and I didn't really get it. Then I tried 999...the ending I got scared me and I got lazy to try it again.

Before 999 though, I already discovered Ren'Py, so I got to some and I enjoyed it. Mhm.

Mine was "True Love" - though technically, that's a dating sim/VN crossover. First real dating sim: Kana Imouto. Yeah, I started off with one of the best...

The first VN I ever played was Moonshine. I really loved it.

My first VN was Katawa Shoujo, which a lot of our online community played.
I then gave Kanon a try, which cemented my love of the medium.

Huh, I thought I would've answered this by now...

Technically, my first VN was Yo-Jin-Bo. |Dc However, I didn't realize what VNs were and was really confused when I kept dying (not realizing how these games are played) so after I got Mon...Mon (the monk guy?) I stopped. |Dc I still have it and I want to play it...
But when I was aware of VNs was through the Key anime adaptions (Air, Clannad, and Kanon - watched in that order). People always say Kanon is the best out of the three (I admit that Makoto's route brought out all the tears ;w;) but since I watched Air first it's my personal favorite. Also the Air soundtrack is one of my favorites of all time.

As for how I got into Ren'py, I was in the Touhou fandom when I was in high school (well, I liked the music and fanon, but since I have Macs I couldn't play it and I didn't know about Boot Camp back then) and I wanted to find more 'indie' games so I stumbled onto this. I don't really remember my first game - the one that I remember playing a long time ago was the first 'text' by sake-bento.

I also watched Air first, and it's my favorite as well. XD And the soundtrack rocks. ~

I was introduced to vns through flash games. I think I played a fan made game about love hina or something, had no idea there were such things a visual novels because I was mostly a console gamer. The first real vn that I played and actually enjoyed was Phoenix Wright Ace attorney. Im still looking for games that are very similar to that, but the series is one of a kind.

The first one I played was RE: Alistair++. I can't quite remember how I came across the download (I think I was searching for 'dating sim games' coz I didn't have much knowledge about VNs before). But since it was short, I can't seem to get enough and searched for more and that's how I got hooked xD I'm not into animes, I'm not even a good artist, I just really love playing VNs (especially VNs. KNs...depends if I like the story) :D

I played Phoenix Wright first, then Trace Memory, Hotel Dusk, and Professor Layton all around the same time. I do believe that the first Ren'Py VN I ever played was Sakevisual's Jisei (sp?) which was amazing. That and RE: Alistair++ inspired me to pick up Ren'Py myself.
