Dogs. Star Wars. Cars.

I'd try to find the link between those three things, but I'm doubting there's any. Commercials are weird.

But here you are, talking about and viewing a video of the ad posted up by someone other than the company. So the ad raised awareness of the company simply by you thinking how weird the concept was and trying to figure out how it related to cars. So the advertisement achieved its goal and the company wins.

Behold the marketing of the future!

Σ(゜o゜; That's true! I miss the good ol' days, when advertising consisted solely of a man in a nice suit pointing to the product.

Car commercials don't make sense, mainly because they can just brag about how their car is... So they invent this things. This is really awesome!

I simply love the chewy dog :P

Oh, Taleweaver, you wacky Germans ;) Hee hee

So would that make it a German-engineered commercial? Because you know they always make good stuff (according to the Shamwow guy) I wonder how they did that commercial.

I'm more of a Jumbaco fan myself though :D

Volkswagen... a car I'd probably never own (TT_TT)

Ahem, being a dog-lover; I can't help but sarcastically squeal with the cuteness overload (>.<) If only that commercial airs here in Japan too (;_;)

It seems funny, but I have never seen a commercial like this either... Especially in what it is car's commercials.

They are usually are a dark background or a highway, some soft music and 100 different takes from a car. Sometimes they add specs of the car on a sort of CSI-style... And that's it.

Thisis actually quite creative. I still prefer beer commercials :P

I've finally found an explanation for the odd ad:

Apparently, there were two Volkswagen TV ads before that. The first featured a dog working out to become fast enough to chase a Volkswagen when it drove by. The second featured a six-year-old boy in a Darth Vader costume desperately trying to "use the force" on all sorts of things... until he "uses the force" on a Volkswagen and suddenly its headlights go on. (Of course, it's the boy's father turning them on with a remote on his car key, but the boy is mighty proud all the same.)

Combine dog ad with Dark Side ad and you get The Bark Side.
