Nice. So there's gonna be a combat element? Is that just going to be one of the minigames, or is it going to be more like a full blown RPG with a lot of stats and stuff?

It is not a minigame, but not really full blown RPG, I think? It's pretty basic.
There aren't that many monsters (3 per area, 15 in total) or options (4 weapons and 3-4 skills), but you can raise your power level to level 15 and your magic level to level 12, and you can use your magic level points to buy scrolls to learn skills. You get spirit power from defeating monsters, which you need to gather to locate your memory keys.
I've been trying to write a system that makes it easy for me to understand and to edit, but I can't get it to jump to the label to calculate the experience and end scene. So I'm putting it to the side for now, and working other the script writing and art assets.

Super slow progress this (and next) week due to finals.
I did do some things the last few days.
First scene with Belter is complete, and basic setting info if given.
Plus, most importantly, the first part of the grand quest.
Also edited the dialouge box and designed a info scren with buttons to the map, quests, status and items.

Each outfit has a different effect, except the beginner one of Sendra.

Update on what's going on with Memento Karotte:
I've put Memento Karotte on the back burner a while a go, but I still spend some hours on it each month. Snail Pace. It's a good thing though, since the short game(s) I'm working on all have features that I want to put in MK, so I'm learning how to code all that stuff. (The catalyst in why I stopped actively working on MK was that I couldn't figure out how to manage the battle system, but I think I figured out a solution for that now too.)
However a lot has changed regarding where I want to take the story, so I am thinking of scrapping some feature that I think won't give the game anything extra, like the mini games for example.
Anyways, MK won't be done in a long, long time, since the world is huge and it has lots of characters. Plus everything is supposed to be painted/lineless, which will take a long time.
I plan on working on it again in April (when Tropichu! and my nano game are complete) and during the summer.
What's needed:
~15k per Area/Arc (total ~75k)
~5-8k per Relationship Character (~45k)
~10 Main Characters / 10 Side Characters / 10 Monsters
~35 Backgrounds
~20 CGs
At the end of the summer I want to have this done, at least:
- 100% Script
- 50% Sprites
- 35% Backgrounds
- Coding the first Arc for Demo.
The first 4 areas (Sendra, Baster, Etra and Areno) will be pretty linear with minor detours. in the last arc (Nerthal) it will split up depending on your choices previously in the game. (see map below)

I was designing knight armor for the Areno Knights Division in Memento Karotte.
Best looking armor I've ever attempted /sobswithhappiness (the BG sketch is not in Areno, but in the Capital of Baster, the desert region)

The whole thing looks very promising, and I haven't heard before in this forum of an animated cg. That's a unique add, I say. It must take a lot of work so you have all my encouragement . I like that all seems hard work and high quality.

Some terrific art, there - I can already see a lot of richness and depth even in the sketches, from the poses, the angles, the sense of perspective, stuff like that (love the library one). Really nice aesthetic you're going for with the slightly more delicate look to everything (I like the baroque squiggles on the armour especially) and the colours you're using. I'm impressed you're trying for a pseudo-RPG, too! The menus look a little bland, perhaps? But this is obviously old/early art, so that's just nitpicking (and they certainly don't look bad). I don't doubt this is an incredible amount of work for a one-man show (even without real life intruding), but you're obviously pretty talented, so fingers crossed you can keep at it.
