Where the hell's our fanbase, anyway? How did we make it on Kickstarter and have no response here? Man, these forums were always like super helpful to me but there has been like 3% interest in this project...

Another style attempt. Hey, that's not nice, Mulan! As usual, the proportions are all fucked up when I'm holed up by myself in the Vault or on a set of unused stairs in order to sketch without anything else but the stuff in my skull, my pencil, and an eraser.

Nailing down facial style before expressions reel. Won't be much longer.

I'm still not happy with some things, but I will fix that when I draw her about 8 times or so. Practice makes perfect.

I am, like, seven days behind my own schedule, haha. I have 2 days to make it up.





Throwing in Elle's sketches and some other stuff I commissioned from a young artist as well. At this point, it's not about quality, it's about me trying to find a space where I can make these characters complete in image. I mean, I've touched on the writing, but it's the visuals that people are going to actually think of when they form any attachment or react to a character.

Well, if you're concerned about the image of the characters...Maybe make their iris not just small black dots? It looks kind of family guy-ish and off putting. Realistic irises are large enough that they're covered slightly by the eyelids: http://www.artgraphica.net/images/drawi ... encil9.jpg But, even if you're not going for realism, the small dark irises still look unattractive...

And instead of outlining noses, just outline where the shadows really form (Under the nose) and make their shape with shading instead. Outlining the nostrils makes the noses look overly bulbous and troll-like.

Just being honest with you

I like the irises on everyone so far, although Sara's can stand to be a little larger. I didn't say anything because it worked, well.



To be fair, this is exactly what we're going for with Colonel 'I'm Getting Too Old For This Shit' Preston.

An old man, yes, a bulbous nose is fine. A young woman or young man... It just looks strange. I know you're trying to be original with the style, but there's original and then there's unappealing.
