Our First Game Ever

Hi everyone, This is the first time i and my friend are making a visual novel game. The name of the game we are woking with is called "Magical Life: Child of Mana". I have worked a bit with Renpy but never thought of doing a game but i later decided to do it with my friend. Im the one working with the story, music background and etc while my friend were working with the characters and all. So i'll hope you all will like the game are working with and please support us since we are new to this and all.

Story: A young girl named Mizuki who was a shy yet cheerful lost her parents at the age of seven. When Mizuki was seven she saw her parents being killed by a man she didn’t know. But before they died fully her parents told her that they werent her real parents. So they gave her a music box who was originaly from her real mother and that the music box will one day explain everything. While her fake parents where trying to hold the unknown man with their lats breath they told her to run away as far she ever could and so she did. She runed away as far she ever could without looking back and to the direction to her uncle house instead. Years later she has lived with her uncle who is a principle over a school who is for students with powers. Her uncle said she has also a power but it was different and much stronger that she could imagen. So instead of having class with others she had a private lessons only for her instead. After the incident she has been more quiet, sad and lonely without any friends those past years. But while the time pass she meets some boys and a girl who is the most popular students on school. And by time Mizuki start to socialize with them, will she ending up being their friends and mabye get a lover?

Genre: Comedy, Drama, Action, Romance, Fantasy

How Many Characters: 10 Main Characters and some none important characters you shouldn't pay attention

Looks like an idea, but I don't see any other work done on it. Maybe this would be better in the Ideas section?

Yeah i know but i already done some sketch of the characters but i thought i would wait until the characters where colored and all. But if not i will already pot up the sketches

First, be aware that your working title is rather similar to Children of Mana, which was a DS game from 2006. You may benefit by using a different title.

Second, you said you've created sketches of your characters. Please state if this is a work in progress -- in other words, something that you're currently writing and coding.



It sounds like Mizuki is given an orphan's plot trinket. This concept has existed for decades, or maybe hundreds of years. It can be done well, but it can also be a cheap way to patch plot holes and solve problems.



It sounds like your story will have some school-centered slice of life, but it also sounds like there will be a larger plot. How much emphasis will be on day-to-day events, and how much emphasis will be on the general plot? Balancing the two is never easy...

Likewise, I'm not sure if you plan to include romance options. Your characters can certainly be friends or significant others without the story focusing on romance, or turning into a love triangle / harem story. It's your decision.

Aside from that... it sounds like Mizuki has some type of magical or supernatural powers. (If I'm wrong, correct me.) How many other people in your fictional world will have similar abilities? Are they being persecuted or hunted down? Can a person hide their powers for any length of time? Can these people use their talents in a company or an organization?

Where does your story happen, and does it occur during a specific year or era?

Finally, if you have any trouble with Renpy, or if you need help with writing, be sure to ask. Hopefully your project will go well.

Thank you Gekiganwing XD I'll be changing the name of the game. You're also right about that she has a supernatural power and that the game is also about school-centered life of life. And there aslo other characters who has a similar abilities and some of them are being hunted down. And when it comes to romance i havent decided if it would be a triangle or not but i'll will soon decide. The game will take place at a specific year, that's what we have though anyway. And when it comes to hiding the powers i would say for a while but it will be revealed later on the game or you could reveal it early. And yeah there was one thing i would like to ask, how do i change the icon of the game?
