display driver related visual c++ error

#1 Post by curry nochi rice »

Greetings.

Here's the story:
I installed "cosmicbreak.exe" yesterday and it required me to update my display drivers... but my display drivers were already the latest so I rolled back. Ren'Py worked okay. Later that day I wanted to watch something with my Media Player Classic but it returned a dx9presenter something error which required a display driver update. :v I was able to watch the video in EVR again but both cosmicbreak.exe and ren'py stopped working.
...
:v so I promptly disabled my display driver and it reverted back to using the default Microsoft drivers. So I was able to run Ren'Py in this setting. Problem is the fps dropped substantially.
...
anyway is this an already reported bug? is it even a bug, or just an isolated issue?

EDIT:
I was able to access console output and it read.

Code: Select all

fatal python error: <pygame parachute> segmentation fault

this application has requested the runtime to terminate <omitted>

EDIT 2:
:v had to reformat PC since I can't system restore. >.>
