Hey, all. I thought I'd try to help out a project to get a feel for what working on a VN is like.

Samples are attached down there. They all took me around 5-10 minutes, so they're obviously not my best work. I promise, of course, to work harder for an actual game.

Also, I lied. There's two catches.

I can't do backgrounds, and I can't do digital art, both because I have no tablet, and therefore, am unable to trace (easily). I mean, I technically could learn to trace by mouse with SAI or something, but I kinda don't wanna go to the trouble just so I can provide free art to a game. If you can find a colorist/tracer, then that'd be great. I just can't do it myself.

So... yeah. Hit me up with a PM if you're interested, or just reply below. ;D

Projects: TWCC, Dream's Dénouement, Heartful Memory, Witch Apprentice, etc.
Organization: TTG, Team ANARKY
So, you basically want to be a concept artist? You won't have much to do in the team if you stick to that, you might want to offer proofreading or editing, etc.

BTW, nice anatomy :3

Why thank you! 0:

And no, I don't mean I'll be a concept artist. I'll do the base drawings and everything, it's just that someone will have to go over my art digitally. They won't draw it themselves, they'll just trace it.

Can you do ink line work? That makes it easier to manipulate digitally.

Eh, that's a good point... I need to learn how to do that.

Hey, you go to art school, don't you? Do you have any suggestions for how one is to go about inking properly and attractively?

Ugh, hand inking is my weakness too. I would say a real trick is to have somewhere you can trace your own work so you don't ruin the original pencil drawing if you mess it up. You can rig one up pretty easy with a piece of clear plastic and a lamp. Having a good quality pen helps too.

Sorry about the crappy picture quality...

I cheated here and just used colored pencils, which I do much better with. But I DID use the tracing technique which saved me a lot of time and heartache.

My boyfriend (the guy doing the art for Club Shuffle, and who is a much better commercial artist than I) usually either digitally inks or digitally pencils and then prints that and hand inks it with a brush pen or a crowquill depending on what kind of feel he wants.

So pretty much, I should just make sure the lines are more visible and significantly cleaner when I scan them? If so, I was planning to do that for game art, lulz.

Yeah, the darker the line and the more contrast between the line and the paper the better. It just makes it easier to seperate out the different parts of the art for coloring purposes etc.

All right, thank you for the advice, um... I'm not sure what I should call you, exactly. U': But yeah, thanks.

Now to wait and see if anyone will actually be interested in having me do art... which I sorta doubt, since having me on board will complicate a project. orz

Ha! Crystal is fine. I should put that somewhere.

Edit: Your art is good, I imagine somebody will take you on. :D

When I ink a sketch I just put the ink right on top of the pencils then erase the pencil lines when I'm done. You'll need a good eraser for that of course. Though I think the main thing you need to do is draw on blank paper, not the lined stuff. I just use printer paper, you don't need to have fancy stuff if you're just going to scan it in.

So.. Uhh, would you be interested in drawing the base pose of the main character in my story? :D

Hehe, perhaps. You'd have to find someone to do lineart and coloring, though, and I'd have to see some proof of your dedication to the game. Go ahead and drop me a PM and I'll send you deets.
