I'm a sucker for good endings, but I'm also a sucker for completing games thoroughly so I feel like getting a good ending is a really great reward for scouring for every single conversation tree and earning all of the points. XD I do like being able to play a game realistically instead of just point-farming, though, so having decent endings that cater to playing in character also feels rewarding!

Why? I mean, it's a visual novel. You're not playing to win or to make the best munchkin player character and be a total awesome badass. You play to read a story and see the amount of effort the author has put into it.

I think I get your point, but to use the word "farming" is entirely unsuitable in this genre IMO. Just a bit of nitpick.

You caught me red handed: I was more thinking of Dragon Age, since that's the most recent thing I've been playing, and so I'd wandered off from this genre entirely. I think that the love of good endings and trying to poke through all of the conversation branches (when I can!) still applies, though. Hope I didn't offend you with my word choices? You sound pretty taken aback.

Ah... there's nothing that I love more than a real good bittersweet ending. I like crying... (But it it's an unresolved ending, I'll rage a little. I don't like unresolved endings.)
