It's not so much offensive here (at least here in the US) as it is... Well, so-so? Really, it depends on your timing and intent when talking about sex. It's sort of weird just bringing it up out of nowhere. It's by no means a bad thing, but you're right it's still a sensitive topic in its own right no matter where you're from and what culture you are.



Very well put. I think I attempted sensual writing before, it was terrible. Which is why I don't write it, therefore no eroge/hentai game from me!

I'd have to agree on that writing sex is HARD. For me, it was at least 10 times harder to write a sex scene compared to another scene. The first couple sex scenes I wrote were so bad they needed to be heavily rewritten. It was about the sixth one when I could write them without crying tears of suffering. I was so paranoid about writing positions that wouldn't work/doing something stupid/making the scene ridiculously unrealistic that it ended up taking forever to write just one sex scene!

I would disagree about the visuals though. It takes a high level of quality to pull off appealing sex scenes. Nothing is ever easy man!

You will never see anything extremely and overtly ero from me, I guarantee it XD. I like focusing on other story elements rather than the erotic, I'll leave that up to better writers who know what they're doing unlike a useless person like me.

Even though both of the VNs I completed are R-18 Hentai, I can tell you what I found the most difficult: Characters and explicit art that matched.

I am Not an artist, I'm a writer.
-- My choices for images is limited to paying someone to make all my character models AND my sex scenes, (I do not have the spare cash for this,) or doing what I actually did, doctoring photos. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find people in action poses AND sex poses? In my first one, I was forced to chop off heads -- and even then I couldn't quite match the body type to the original model. In the other one I pasted heads onto multiple bodies and I STILL couldn't quite match the body types.

In fact I currently have a finished erotica story I'd LOVE to turn into a VN, but I just don't have the talent or resources to do the artwork for it.

The outer banks are great too, obviously. And it doesn't just have natural beauty. Research triangle park is the most educated place in the world if I'm not mistaken. (Cary, NC has the highest PhDs per capita.) My hometown alone houses the headquarters of Fortune 500 companies like SAS Institute and the creators of the Unreal Engine, Epic Games.

It's just an awesome place to live! I would hijack ANY thread to talk about NC!

And last but not least, to make an on-topic comment, NC is also a great place to do the dirty deed and increase your experience.

NC also has a ton of ghost legends that would make wonderful VN stories. There are tons of gorgeous old houses for reference photos too.

And pirates! Lots of pirates! Blackbeard was from Bath.

If you are brave and want to try it, you can use DAz 3D (free software) to make the characters. Just be aware that they won't look like the manga characters so prevalent in VNs and that will definitely turn some folks off. Use photographs for the backgrounds. Additionally, Visual Novelty has some nice low resolution drawn backgrounds.
