Well, if art styles don't bother you that much, I probably can give it a try. You might want a colourist, though, since I can take too long. But I can do it, if you want.

I just realised Ethan's hand in your picture is glowing. Just something on a whim or signifying something more?

It's by design...

The events of the prologue lead to the various characters having powers. The glowy-ness is indicative of that.

Sir, I think your project got extra 10 points in my book.

How many endings do you plan on having? Since, you know, some people like to have a good and bad ending for each character. Will there be a universal bad ending (or one where one of the characters die early) or other ending?

Almost every version of every chapter will have one potential bad ending. By the end of the story, there will be 12 good endings (No less than two per character, a couple have more). Don't know necessarily how many bad endings there will be, it depends on how the story flows as it is being written.

Most recent update - Chapter 3 is almost completed writing (two more segments to go, plus a bunch of coding).

Statistics:

The game contains 2,896 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 33,502 words,
for an average of 11.6 words per screen.
The game contains 32 menus.

Chapter 3 would be complete if Gear wrote his sections. :P

While I am a prolific writer, there's one character that I just can't seem to write for. So once Gear does that, we should have that done and I can go back to feeling productive.... *looks at mountain of projects Gear has handed me* damn it.

I'm releasing an alpha version of the demo sometime within the next 24 hours. Keep your eyes on the demo section of the forums, or check back here for the link. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Here you go: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=15911

And while I'm at it, here's the latest statistics:

The game contains 3,720 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 41,758 words,
for an average of 11.2 words per screen.
The game contains 40 menus.

First update in quite some time. The game has been progressing steadily, it's just the first time in a while I've told you guys about it.

The game contains 6,965 screens of dialogue.
These screens contain a total of 78,008 words,
for an average of 11.2 words per screen.
The game contains 97 menus.

We have completed almost all the Chapter 4's and 5's at this point, and are wrapping them up in preparation of Chapter 6. Interesting that our average words per screen number hasn't changed a bit...

Thanks! Hope you enjoy the rest of the demo. Be sure to let us know how it went afterwards, and if you have any suggestions, feel free to pass them on.

I like it!
I just played the demo fro Gage's POV, and it was pretty cool.

I agree with everyone saying that they look like college people, but I realize that you aren't an artist, so instead I'll commend you on your current sprites. They look too old, but they are cool. They are nice looking and pretty well done :) If you get an artist at some point, try to get them to redesign the clothing maybe? As an artist myself, I find the clothes a little flat and a little bland.

I LOVE how, if you screw up and die, you can re-do your choice without replaying the entire game. And I really like your opening image, with the blacked out characters that you scroll over for links.

Basically...
I look forward to the full version :D

Thanks for playing. We actually more recently upgraded the characters from high school to college, since they seemed to both look and act like college students. I'm actually looking for an additional cel-shading colorist for my lineart, which will help dramatically with the characters' clothing issues.

Yes. I think it's cruel to make someone start over if they forgot to save.

Thanks! Still working on touching that one up, but I do like it a lot better than the generic title screen style.

Here's hoping we can keep up the pace and that the rest of the game lives up to your expectations. Thanks for the review!

Just wanted to give everyone an update here.

Gear and I are hard at work, and we've been super productive. Things are coming along smoothly, and we're making loads of progress. There are a slew of interesting things happening to all of your favorite characters, with thrills, chills, and a couple of spills (just for effect).

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know what was up, and to let you know that we weren't slacking.
