Update- June 18, 2013: A new character sprite has been finished and added to the page, but you'll have to wait for the release to see more than the silhouette.

Summary
A single rose is saved by a florist tending to the garden. Her feelings that result from his kindness give her the gift of speech, but the only one around to hear is the girl who owns the flower bed. This is a short kinetic novel from the perspective of a rose.

Main Character- Rose The only rose that survived her patch. As she develops feelings for the florist that saved her, she gains the unique ability to speak.
Florence A kind florist that owns a flower shop of his own. He saved Rose because of a desperate request from a friend to help with her garden.
Hazel The owner of the garden where Rose lives. She is the first to hear Rose speak, and eventually comes to listen to Rose and her dilemma.
Witch (Secret name is secret.) A witch that happens by Rose one day. She is the second to hear Rose speak.

My Babbling/question asking
Hello. This is Olfix's (and my) first visual novel project. It's something short we decided on to get the hang of visual novel creation and working as a team. Emeytroi, Tawanka and I are the Olfix trio. and I'm the only one with a lemma soft account. Haha. Emeytroi now has one, unexpectedly. X3 I will update as things progress.
Any advice, comments, criticisms, or questions you have for us are welcome.

I liked the premise... until the witch part. (I was like Ah, good, romantic, sweet, lovely, love triangle?, somber, GAH MOE MOE WITCHES?!) How does she fit into this equation exactly? Is she some kind of comic relief? Do you need an excuse for magic? Since the "magic of love" is already sufficient to give a flower a voice...

Ahahaha! I suppose I set myself up for that one. I don't know if I should use spoiler tags, but...*shrugs*
The witch helps Rose out by turning her into a human for one hour.
No moe or comic relief aspects to her as far as I can tell. I hope her presence didn't throw you off too much. ^-^; I'm glad you at least found the premise interesting.

Hello again to anyone reading! It's been a while due to life circumstances, but this project is still moving along. It's just going slower than we expected.
Updates- - All characters have names now! - The Witch's part was re-written. She's a bit of a different character now. - We have a background, and Emey is working on sprites as I type. - The main menu music is still almost done. Now that Tawanka hopefully has a working memory card for the keyboard, hopefully music things will be going a little smoother. Nevertheless, her work is admirable! As is the wonderful artist, Emeytroi! - Once the main menu music is all done, I will be posting a youtube video of our main menu screen. It has some small animation. - The script is done but still needs some work in my opinion, so it's editing time!

Update!- Thanks to our wonderful and amazing team members, we have some shiny new updates! -The main menu music is complete! This means that there is a youtube video up above. -Florence's sprite is done! He's also up above and blinking. 8D
The Sound of Rain is a piece by Tawanka, our musician, and the art is by Emeytroi, our artist. They deserve all the love they can get for their work!

@StarMasayume - It does have a bit of a fairy tale feeling to it, doesn't it? Thank you! I'm happy that you found it interesting and that you like the title screen.
Might I suggest some things? I think if you vary the lines of the vines, it gives a bit more elegance to the button. Like how I tried in the attachment. Also the shadows of the sprite seem sometimes arbitrary, especially the one on the nose isn't right. Er, yeah, new to suggesting things...^^'

Thank you! And of course, suggestions are always very welcome. I'm not the artist though, so I will make sure to pass your suggestions on to Emeytroi and we will discuss them. Thanks again, and don't be afraid to say anything. ^-^

No, it's fine! Your suggestions were wonderful~ I can see where I could add more diversity to the buttons but since this is mostly a trial KN- something for us to get the hang of things- I'm not going to worry about it too much this time. I will keep that in mind for future reference, though. C8 Also, with the sprite, I... um... yeah. It's my first ever lineless sprite. XD; I can see what you mean with the shadows. I obviously wasn't paying much attention to the light source. OTL Seeing as my style keeps changing I'm planning to recreate Florence's sprite and I promise that I'll try to pay more attention to the lighting! >n<

Sorry it took so long for you to get emeytroi's response. ^-^; (partly my fault...) It's probably better that she got an account and responded to you directly though...
Anyways, there aren't any at the moment. We are working on this when we have time, so slow spots happen. We decided from the start to make this a non stressful project too. Thankfully things progress pretty fast when we are working on it since it's a small project.
