A Thief's Tale [GxB] [Fantasy, Adventure, Romance]

The setting for this story is the world of Almerra, a large continent half covered in a vast forest inhabited by all sorts of dangerous beasts.
For this reason, most people stay well away from the woods.
A demonic race known as Wildlings were also said to live within the woods many centuries ago but most people believe that they've long since gone extinct, if they even existed at all.

Our story begins with Dina, a girl who is working as a servant at the Almerran royal palace on the eve of the youngest prince's birthday.
While everyone else is busy celebrating, her goal is to sneak into the royal treasury and make off with all the riches she can carry.
Unfortunately, a ghostly encounter ruins her plans and she winds up arrested for attempted assassination.
The only chance for her to get her normal life back is to join a knight on a quest deep into the woods, but will she survive the journey?

***Main Characters***


Dina Dryden: Our 19 year old protagonist who gets by on her wits and smarts.
Usually carries a pair of daggers for protection and dresses like a boy to avoid unwanted attention.
Crude, snarky, stubborn and slow to trust, she can be a handful but she's loyal to those she calls friend.


Tobias Ostler: A 24 year old royal knight who takes his duty to his kingdom seriously.
Staunchly loyal, he dares to brave the dangerous woods bordering Almerra for the sake of his
kingdom...although the real test may be the stubborn girl he's forced to travel with.


Frost: A Wildling who lives in the forest bordering Almerra. 21 in human years.
Very inquisitive about humans, because he doesn't know much about them.
Skilled in water magic, specifically in the form of ice. Open, honest, and playful personality.


Prince Kieran: The youngest Almerran prince, barely 18.
Outwardly, he's everything a proper prince should be, but what lies underneath that facade?

Very nice! Both the art and the story are well done; the characters are well defined and very believable. I had just gotten really engrossed in the story, when it suddenly said that the demo was over! Wah! Will look forward with anticipation to the release of the complete story.

Oh, looks cool! I love fantasy games~ Frost looks like a really cute character, it's too bad he wasn't introduced in the demo! The only things I find unsettling is the "girl dresses like boy to avoid attention" thing and

the bad ending in the demo.

The first one being because it's simply one of my least favorite tropes and it could just be my preference, but I'd rather... avoid doing that. Then the second one being because it seems waaaaay too sudden to

have your protagonist die like that. I didn't know her well enough to feel any pity and it felt awkward when she went on about how awful her death was since I felt nothing.

But, my bad, that sounded a little harsh! But I do think this game has a lot of potential, so I'll be cheering you on! Good luck~♥

Just finished the demo, and I loved it! The art was lovely and so far the plot was really interesting as well. Given the playtime of the demo, I haven`t got a complete feel of all of the character`s personalities, but so far they all seem very well-developed. (My favorite right now is definitely Prince Kieran!) I think this is a great game so far, and it definitely has potential. Awesome job so far, keep up the good work!

Forgive me for not playing yet - this does interest me and I definitely wanna find out what happens to these cuties, but I never have time for new stuff during jams ^^; I just popped in to say, have you considered changing the colour of the text in your logo? Against that background, I can barely see what it says ^^; Even more so n the thumbnail.

Anyway, I'm definitely coming back to try this later! ^^

Just played the demo.

I like where the story is going so far and I like the fantasy setting. The character sprites are nice and so are the backgrounds. I also like the characters so far.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but could you make the font of the text one or two sizes larger? The current size makes it a bit difficult to read.
