Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
That really depends what you're going for. If you move the figure lower and maybe make her a bit smaller, it highlights the enviroment and the scene more, and maybe focuses slightly less on the person itself. It'd create a feeling of "a small person in a big world".Didules wrote: I wonder if I should put the character and the rocks a lil bit more to the bottom so that the sky seems bigger...?
If I were you, I'd probably move the rock and the person a bit lower and more to the right side. But I'm not an expert, and it's just my opinion :')

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
@konett: Whoa some nice stuff there.
@Laniessa: Looks nice. I think the extra effort in presentation pays off w/ the BG and text.

Haven't been doing much art lately. We need a code dumpage thread, damn it! Anyway here's a WIP BG that I started approximately just after the Big Bang:

@Tempus Wow, I love the hazy, atmospheric lighting in that office bg.

Tempus, you BGs are so gorgeous there would need to be some very special sprite art to go along with them.
A Close Shave:
*Last Thing Done (Aug 17): Finished coding emotions and camera for 4/10 main labels.
*Currently Doing: Coding of emotions and camera for the labels--On 5/10
*First Next thing to do: Code in all CG and special animation stuff
*Next Next thing to do: Set up film animation
*Other Thing to Do: Do SFX and Score (maybe think about eye blinks?) Check out My Clock Cookbook Recipe: http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 51&t=21978

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
First if all, thanks a lot for the feedback!! I'll probably do what you suggest because reducing the character seems like a bad idea as she embodies the feeling I wanted to represent (happiness/freedom when all seems to go along with who you are and how you're feeling). The character has to be important but here she seems to central... + I want to train on environnementsAviala wrote: That really depends what you're going for. @Tempus - Very nice Love the lighting and texture work.
@LeonDaydreamer - That's a very good looking BG. Must've been a lot of work!
A test render for a background I was making for this Violet Hill video that isn't happening anymore. I also did some very quick post processing, just as an experiment:
I'll probably finish this later on and then do some proper post processing, complete with a paint over, for it to be used elsewhere.

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
@LeonDaydreamer - cute bg, has a 50's feel to it.
@Tempus - your art is lovely as usual (has a soft hazy feel, but the solidness of the chair and desk gives it a real sense of power/authority).
@Darksin - sorry to hear your bg won't be used after so much work. I like the sense of space.
Finally finished my bg (only another 17 to go).
Definitely need to get faster at this.

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
I had some time to make some traditional inking with brush-pens, and went for the "brutally bold" way. Then I toyed with it and made a comic-book cover mockup.
Hope you like it!
