I'm not sure if this is in the right place...

I'm using DAZ Studio to create my Character images. For example this is a face shot of the "heroine" Lana: http://bignutter.deviantart.com/art/Lan ... -343571624 (This is to show off and hopefully get opinions of the character's appearance.)

Don't worry if you don't use the software. I'm really unsure the "Camera" settings, as stylisic choice. And Basicly some scale issues.

This is Erika which appears in the Alpha

Should cut most people off around the waist or the knees?
Do try and make it so the camera height and angle set between all characters?

If so, is there a way in DAZ to have preset camrea that I can Load up and hit render once I'm ready?

Long story short, I daren't do the single image with both background and Character for each "scene." I'd still be rendering in 2014 with ease.

Another thing, is that there is a selection of minor characters who are minors, I mean, 5 year old children. Should I render them as separate complete "scene", as they only appear a few times?

You can speed up rendering time by selecting Fast time renderer (Open GL) instead of Software renderer (3delight) under Speed in Render settings. Also, if you are using shadows, for the Parameters of the light which casts shadows, use Deep Shadow Mask instead of Raytracing.
You can create a new camera, and then Save as a camera preset.

Not many folks here use DAZ. I'd suggest you visit the DAZ forums for advice. http://www.daz3d.com/forums/

Poorly done hand drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

Rendering times aren't aren't the real issue. It's just the amount of "scenes" needed to construct. I've wrote the script with Sprites in mind.

I also planned for that I not be doing the art in the first place, but I'm doing everything that I'm comfortable with for making test version.

Basicly, what would you suggest I do if I was "photograph" people for "Sprites"?
Do I set the camera in a same place for everyone, while making them stand in the same place?

Daz Studio makes Transparent PNG so that is not an issue.

If you are using static backgrounds, I'd say use a fixed camera position. If you are using a 3D background, I'd recommend multiple camera positions.

It's your visual novel, make it the way you want. The main thing is to have fun while doing it. I wish you success.
