I like it. The blending and everything. I'm not too sure, in sky high. the beginning sounds kinda...jumpy? I have no idea if it's the right word.
Some are a little loud, but that's prolly just my volume.
All in all, everything is clean and proffesional. Personally, I would hire you.
But maybe, that' just me.

I agree. But yeah, I feel there's some random bursts of notes in several sections LOL. xDItwasneveradream wrote:I like it. The blending and everything. I'm not too sure, in sky high. the beginning sounds kinda...jumpy? I have no idea if it's the right word.

But I mean, you can maybe call those blasts of notes 'musical'? But I mean, whatever floats your boats.
Like she said, everything was cut short, clean, no weird noises. Like in some pieces, it has the buzzing-beepy-weird-alkdjgs;klgj-spastic-clicking-eardrum-killing noise. Yanno?
You're doing a good job.
As for me? I fail at my blending xD But that's just me and my failure in software.
Keep up the work! Good luck!

Re: Crit my music?
I'll admit I only listened to a handful of the tracks, so I'll comment based on what I've heard.
Very nice ambient music, though it could be made more interesting by permutating bass rhythms or something else that would warrant less of a looped sound.
I also feel your percussion elements could use some work. I understand it's ambient music, but the percussion to me felt quite uninspired and unnecessary alot of the times. Try some more hocketing or, again, I'll mention permutation. Try building your percussion in layers, rather than all as a single rhythmic piece.
Alot of what I heard was quite rhythmically stagnant aswell. Try altering a note or phrase every 2nd bar, or have a longer rhythmic phrase that doesn't just cover a single bar. Ofcourse this could also be counter-intuitive with ambient music, so you'd have to be careful.
Eitherway I did enjoy it, I'm a fan of experimental and ambient music, even if I don't compose much in that style myself, and you're definitely capturing the right idea with your music. Just throwing out my two cents to point out areas I feel could be improved.

Re: Crit my music?
I made a playlist on soundcloud for songs that were gonna be used in a VN but the project died off. But, if you're interested in me doing anything for you, you can see what type of music i excel at.

Re: Crit my music?
Thank you! Just finished a new album, link is at the end of this post. Lots of piano type stuff mixed in with ambiance, and a bit experimental. I'd appreciate a listen

Re: Crit my music?
Finished my first ever song with vocals the other day. It was collab with Pickle131 (I'm sure some of you guys have seen her around on here, she is a fantastic voice actor and singer).

Re: Crit my music?
Hiya,
I have to admit that the tracks are all nicely done and fun to listen to. You know how to use the electronics, that is for sure. The only thing that bothers me is what others have already stated - sometimes there is a lot of randomness going on. If that was the point - it's okay, but it's harder for the listener to keep up. Also, you could try working on the dynamics - might help catching attention. By the way, what gear do you use?
Cool stuff!
EDIT: Some experimenting (in terms of rhythm, for instance) can't hurt

Re: Crit my music?
Thanks for the words! I like to experiment a bit with soundscapes, songwriting, and just general production so I guess that's where the randomness comes from. I personally thought my dynamics were alright but I will keep that in mind for future songs.PurpleMind wrote:Hiya,

The only thing I actually play is guitar in my songs, otherwise everything else is done electronically. I use a Fender Stratocaster plugged into a Saffire Focusrite 6 for that though. For vsts I usually use Nexus, TAL Noise Maker, and Pianoteq . I used to use FL Studio as my DAW and then REAPER for mixing/recording but more recently I've been using REAPER exclusively for everything from composing to mixing etc

Re: Crit my music?
A fellow Fender Strat user! Very nice '95 mexican here! How would you compare REAPER to FL Studio? I'm currently looking for some new DAW and REAPER seems to be a tool definitely worth giving a try. How easy it is to use?Joshua1207 wrote:Thanks for the words! I like to experiment a bit with soundscapes, songwriting, and just general production so I guess that's where the randomness comes from.
