How to add an intro clip at the beginning of a game

Hello everyone, I hava a question about adding a movie at the beginning of a game, before the main menu shows up. I know how to put it after the start label, but I want, that the movie shows up first and afterwards the main menu should occur. I hope you can help me with my problem.

Is there some sort of a different way to do it with avi files? cause it won't play my avi file for me for some reason. it just skips over it.

edit: my video is 5 seconds and 800x600 btw, in case it matters.

You need to fix your video file - check the codecs and if it has soundtrack at all (http://www.renpy.org/doc/html/movie.html)
To be shure your code really working you can use sample clip from tutorial game.

errr...not too sure what you meant by that...but i converted it to a mpg and it works fine now. thanks
