As I'm currently beginning to put all together for a full demo of my game I'm wondering how ppl go about in regards to sound effects?
Are they usually created for a visual novel or existing ones taken?
As sound effects I mean as examples:
Car doors getting slammed
Gunshots being heard
Bodies falling to the ground
Wolfs howling
The sound of a camp fire
Sounds of a forest
Howls of zombies
Sounds of splattering blood
Sounds of melee weapons being swung
Sounds of melee weapons getting blocked
Sounds of a bow being fired
......
Sound effects create new ones or use existing ones in VNs?

I can't speak for everyone else, but if I don't have the means to produce a sound I need then I hit freesound, there's a large collection of creative commons on freesound that's readily available, and a lot of it falls under the 0 category.

SFX is one of the most time consuming part on coding. To avoid spending lots of time on coding, I have kept tens of hundreds of SFX both free and paid before coding. It'd take longer time on development if I hire someone to make SFX in the middle of coding.
