Just to prove that programming is happening too; visual effects are starting to appear in the battle system;

(Sprites not yet final)

Hopefully now I've turned over all the graphics and sound code to our scripter he'll be able to come up with some more visual effects for the various attacks.

And that's one of the non-pursuable characters, Susan. Since I've done the base pose and colours for all the main characters save for one I'm soon going to work on the characters with randomised haircuts and features. I still need to work on all of the expressions and alternate arm poses, but hopefully I'll manage to do all of that decently and swiftly!

Man, the art and character designs for this are GORGEOUS, and the battle system looks unique! I'm looking forward to this!

It's stats day!

Script writing is happening too;

-21 VN scenes written
-9202 words
-72 ellipses

Not too bad, although since we're nearly half way into the month, Must Speed Up.

Battle abilities written: 71

I think that's all of them, so probably on schedule? Need the graphical effects laid out for them and then we're mostly done on the battle system.

Total repository size: 439MB.

No, the final game [almost certainly] won't be that big. Our artists keep pushing super high res images to the server, a decision with which I fully concur, but we won't be shipping them at that size.

Mecha mahou shoujo? Mecha mahou shoujo.

And with her, all of the non-optional main characters are done. Now in the process of colouring and assembling the paper dolls for the venuses, mechanics and academy matrons. And what a headache it is. After that, arms and expressions! Go go go!

W-whoa the art is amazing. The coloring is top notch and it looks like the backgrounds go along really well. I'm really excited for this game.

Could I offer you any assistance with sound design or BGM?
I can't do anything close to completing a substantial OST in a fortnight but I could get something done.
Please PM me if you want help or a demo of some sort.

The artwork makes me feel bad. All my battle abilities look terrible by comparison!

Ahahaha. As if that's not the most difficult bit. I still have no idea what a "Duckworth-Lewis Method" attack will actually look like...

Hello!

Thanks for the interest, but we already found all the music we're looking for. At this point, we're not looking into recruiting any more people, but thanks for the offer! :)

Saturday is also stats day.

25 VN scenes
11587 words
85 ellipses

Also, we're now up to 110 tickets (tasks and/or bugs) filed for the NaNo deadline. Our tracker tells us we've done 34 of them, which is ... less than half. Bah.

Recolourable characters are down (bleh, not happy with them though...) and now it's expressions time! I'm going for the approach of doing everything in passes (sketches for everyone, lineart for everyone, flat colours for everyone, shading for everyone, basic expressions for everyone, optional stuff for everyone) and in order of priority (eg: Victoria is more likely to get an alternative arm pose than one of the random mechanics is).

Stats Day is becoming an all too regular affair now:

30 events
14470 words
103 ellipses

Also, since our main character is British, it's important to maintain the correct level of Britishness while working on the game. Hence, curry!
WP_20140318_002.jpg
This particular curry will not be appearing in the game, but there will be a curry scene. Because she's British.

(We now return you to actually relevant game posts...)
