Filtered photos CC BY 3.0

Only 2 images for now:

CC BY 3.0

No paintovers (not counting the erasing of number plates and people) I only applied some G'mic filters in Gimp.
If someone want to know what I did:
  1. g'mic -> Repair->smooth bilateral.
  2. Duplicate the layer x3
  3. On the top copy: g'mic->contours-> gradient norm, check negative colours, adjust the others sliders as you like. Apply. Set the layer on multiply, adjust the opacity. Optionally: use colorize.
  4. On the middle copy: g'mic->testing->Corvo->Corvo's painting 5. Layers opacity near 50%.
  5. On the bottom copy: contours->segmentation.
  6. Merge the layers
  7. Mess with rgb, lab, hsl curves. Until despair you achieve a good result :?
  8. g'mic-> patterns ->canvas texture
  9. Optionally: paper texture on a new layer-> overlay, low alpha.

1280*960 there:

Thanks, Corvo. They are really nice, with a good painted-effect.
Thanks also for the explanation. I'll use it.

Thanks Xavimat.

New image, a filtered photo with some minor repaint:

I liked the lights so I choose to not erase the -moving- cars, sorry. They are small so removing them is easy.

The first one is a stitched panorama, I don't guarantee the absence of defects.

Arno river, 6 images, full res 2818x1300 here: http://corvocollorosso.deviantart.com/a ... -513911694
The zip file is pretty big, pardon.
From a stitched panorama.
Some filter used (I'm too lazy, don't want to write a tutorial): gimp->filters->gimpressionist;
g'mic ->repair->smooth [anisotropic]
g'mic ->black and white->multi-layer etch

Oh my goodness, I just realized that your username is Corvo and the effect is called Corvo. Does that mean you created the filter yourself? :shock: Very cool!!!

I will be using this filter and technique in my games for sure.
