They were already on sale at Fanime and a pretty big hit there.

I'd pay anything for them, I just hope they come to Europe one day...

Then I'd manually attach them to my headphones, and BAM, machine cat-ears + headphones = EPIC :D

At first I was sad, because I thought I'd have to choose between a new Xbox and this. Then I was glad, because I checked and I have enough money for both. I'll sign up for the mailing list to see if/when they get other colors/styles, though. (I'm not a fan of white; it gets dirty easy)

Is it bad that I kinda want to buy these just so I can put them on in front of people and loudly declare "the future is meow!"? $100 is a lot of money for a one time use pun, but at the same time, no one would ever doubt my dedication to making really, really awful jokes ever again. Decisions, decisions...

Make sure to give us a report on how they react on someone playing Xbox. You know, for science.

Saw them at Anime Expo this year. Plenty of people wore them around the con.

I personally think this is vastly overpriced. Then again, so is most other toys/merch/collectibles. I would guess that I'd never get the appeal of cat ears and such.

/unpopular opinion.

I think it's a reasonable price, considering the technology put into it. The ears are probably pretty expensive to make. That being said, for what they are (a novelty piece of head gear), they are pretty expensive.

True.

I guess I will put that down on the list of niche luxury products that quite few people want. When I become President of the World, that sort of thing is going into the luxury tax list.

I too think it's a reasonable price for the technology, but even in my excitement I'm not positive I could justify buying a pair, because I'm not sure if I would get the amount of wear out of them that would make the purchase worthwhile for me. My income is pretty depressing, all things considering (I don't mean to sound arrogant, but I am more academically smart than most people I know IRL but I work in a factory where my coworker likes to joke that "there's no thinking allowed." I feel like a colossal waste of potential... OTL) and it seems to me that $100 would be better spent on art supplies, books, or even clothes. Because when I get back to school, I think a new dress would make a better impression on my professors than wiggly ears.

There's also the problem that most conventional headbands don't fit my head and can even give me headaches. And the fact that I would probably accidentally break them while wearing them. OTL

I'm not a fan of the look, but imagine if games used this. Being able to read the player's emotions would open up countless possibilities.
Imagine games that can figure out what gets an emotional reaction from you, and adjusts to your personality.
