My reactions while watching that video:
"Oh, cat ears."
"Oh, cat ears that move."
"OH MY GOD CAT EARS THAT READ YOUR MIND."

I was wondering what was so special about them to get their own commercial. Still would never buy/wear one. That seems a Japan exclusive market. I went to Tokyo Disneysea, and the amount of full-grown women in cat ears (or mouse ears or whatever) was staggering.

I don't get the part where she passes by the guy with a flashlight strapped to his cheek. What was that all about?

I thought that was a phone (Bluetooth-like). But that part is her perking up because she thinks the guy is cute.

Those are actually kinda cute. I'm sure they cost more than I'd be willing to pay, though.

I mean, I'd only really wear them for halloween or a party.

I mean, I went to work in ears, a tail, and glitter in my hair on one halloween.

I can't help but think that this is some sort of study to see if people can learn to use their mind to reliably control things, without spending 100% of the time on it. If they can - well, suddenly there are a lot of applications, ranging from helping disabled people to allowing control of military assets.

I, for one, welcome our nekomimi overlords.

So to explain further: this invention is made so that when you focus on something, like thinking, smelling something or even laugh, the ears go up, when you're relaxed, they fall down. It's quite simple, but very funny.
It can't really read your mind, only show when you think something is worth for your brain to notice (I'm not meaning it in any bad way).

Since at the time of this writing I have three jackets with cat ears, four hats, and a headband pair, I was about to come into this topic like UH, YES!


But I see that we are talking about this very specific and wonderful kind. I would want to wear them... of course, the results could range from slightly to very embarrassing depending on what made them pop up...

When my boyfriend saw these he wondered if mine would always be standing up because I'm always thinking (overload of creative, and woman spaghetti-mind in general). That makes me wonder if the difference between men's brains and women's brains would be picked up by the ears. I have read before that men can sometimes be thinking about absolutely nothing, and that women go crazy because they can't comprehend it (box-mind vs string mind analogy). It would be neat to experiment and see... Also, I would like to drink a bottle of Pepsi and observe what my ears did, because I swear when I have caffeine my brain is going one hundred gazillion miles a minute. Hmm.. I wonder how certain *other* substances would affect the ears...

Curse me for being a boy >_< if I'm a girl, I would definitely wear it... But perhaps we shouldn't wear it every time, since people could have a clue of our feeling anytime and sometimes it could be bad...

I'm not against nekomimi, i love them but making it a mandatory is.... -_- I don't think we should not mix studying from fandom or anime. It's super distraction! example: Your crush who is your seatmate wears a nekomimi and it suits him damn well! You can't concentrate now cause you're all over your crush and your nose won't stop bleeding! XDD kidding!

I don't think I can wear nekomimi now, and ever. :/ I'd be bullied for sure.

@ OtomeWeekend: LMFAO. Example 2: Someone's wearing a nekomimi and it looks very good. Then you can't concentrate because all you can think of is how jealous you are of them. xD

I know of people who'd want to wear that but personally, I would never. One word: Embarrassing.
- I will feel super embarrassed when people know pretty much how I'm feeling at every moment.
- I'd also feel super embarrassed since I know that if I wore it, I'd be getting stares from everyone. :/
