Hahaha... if you think that Adorya is kidding...

I've been there twice. Everyone wants a piece of the action. It's the place where legends are born. The "Artist Alley" is the MAIN EVENT.

Comicket 76 NAO!

It's hell on earth according to Canned Dogs's sources :

Quote:
Good Smile Company’s queue was longer than Type-moon! The domination of Type-moon has been defeated by the combined powers of Touhou & Miku plush dolls and Reimu nendo.

Summary of events at day 1 of Comiket:
# Group of 3 kids in front of Akihabara station brought for questioning as one of them had a knife
# 3 people at comiket having live telecast over niconico stopped by staff
# Just before comiket started somebody was taken away on a stretcher while shouting “I’m okay! I’m okay!”
# 12,000 people queued overnight
# Bunch of Saki fans got together and sang the 2nd OP
# Loss of bags
# Kids that looked like grade school children seen singing Alps ichimanshaku together
# Fujoshi tearing up catalog together to split it between themselves
# Nanoha Information warfare as usual
# Real fist fight over at Gonzo booth
# Woman gets stopped at Shin Kiba for trying to cheat the train fare
# The Happiness Realization Party trying to have a speech to stop comiket
# Wallet with 1,010,000 yen stolen
# Somebody mugged by two guys for 180,000 yen and another person 230,000 yen stolen
# Middle school girl bleeding on the head carried away at west hall
# Taiga tank at carpark

Quote:
Police said a juvenile is being treated at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital after he was shot near a recreation center this evening.

A former St. Edward basketball star who police say went on the run after he was accused of rape was arrested this morning in an apartment complex in Lakewood, police said.

The death of an 18-month-old boy on Thursday has been ruled as a homicide, the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office said today.

Police arrested a 35-year-old Cleveland man this evening whom they suspect killed his 18-month-old infant earlier today.

A woman was shot and killed during a robbery Wednesday night at East 104th Street near Union Avenue.

One more vendor was arraigned Wednesday on corruption charges, completing the first wave of indictments to arise from an 18-month investigation into an elaborate bid-rigging and kickback scheme involving employees at the Ohio Department of Transportation.

To put things in perspective, more people attend Comiket than live in Cleveland, Ohio.

What's someone doing with a wallet containing over 1,000,000 yen? o_o
Sounds like either a dealer or some hardcore otaku!

also went, enjoyed it greatly, it was the first time i've actually been able to get to an anime convention, as when i has living in australia i would have to travel over an hour one way to get to one, and had compulsory school sports on Saturdays...
and as said earlier by someone (can't remember who),bring lots of money. that is so true.

The New York Anime Festival is coming, and I'll be in the area, but I'm not sure if I'm enough of an otaku to justify buying a ticket. I'm mostly familiar with a certain subset of anime: Studio Ghibli, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist, Night on the Galactic Railroad...

I know it's not anime, but ... is anyone interested in PAX? PAX East (Boston)?
I wanna go, but I wouldn't know anyone there. ;_;

I'm signed up to exhibit at Sakuracon in 2010... As for why, that'll be a surprise for now
