Ask questions about one topic per thread, and use a descriptive subject. "NotImplemented error in script.rpy" is a good subject, "Tom's problems" is not. Remember to include all of traceback.txt or error.txt when reporting a problem, as well as the relevant lines of script. Use the [code] tag to format scripts.

 Post subject: Animated .gifs in Renpy

I couldn't help but notice that my animated gifs would not animate when used normally as character sprites.

Is there something I need to do to allow .gifs to animate, or is it something that just can't be done?

Ren'Py don't support animated *.gif...

You should use ATL for animating your sprites...

Is it referred to in the documentation or is it an external program?
