Ask questions about one topic per thread, and use a descriptive subject. "NotImplemented error in script.rpy" is a good subject, "Tom's problems" is not. Remember to include all of traceback.txt or error.txt when reporting a problem, as well as the relevant lines of script. Use the [code] tag to format scripts.

Essentially Build Distribution creates your game based on your script. Which is to say, it puts all images into a folder, it standardizes your script, and it creates an exe file.

In other words, it turns your scripts into a game proper.

No, it will create a .zip file of the game that is playable on its own. It makes no changes to the original file, it just makes a new one that can run independently.

You have to upload it to a server and provide the link to the file. If you don't have your own you can use filehosting sites like Mediafire, well as long as they still remain that is.

Yup. Mediafire, 4shared (people hate that one), your own site, renai.us will actually host a game too.
(I just started hosting on downloads.vnovel.com, but I've yet to install a counter. Sites like mediafire let you see how many people have downloaded, which can be a huge ego boost or not.)
