Wow, the background looks amazing. Also, the fact that the text appears on a book is super awesome. Even more excited for this game now. :D

Well... I haven't been a ideal staff by ignoring the game thread but I will try to change it now.

As everyone had said the arts looks amazing and I can assure the others that Starling writing can give her own art a run for its money.

Kaorien background art looks so... real.

As an update for everyone, if everything goes well Wolf should be finished sometime tomorrow :D Which gets my hardest sprites out of the way and finished.

So wolves have frustratingly colorful coats that make them a lot longer to color than should be allowed.

To be totally honest, I thought that the Bear and Wolf would be anthropomorphic characters. But that wouldn't really be sticking to the story. It's just I'm not sure how many people will go for an animal ~_~. Conflict, conflict.

@Sayuri: I know exactly what you mean.
When I first posted this I was highly debating spoiling the main secret it so that people would know that it isn't going to be "bestiality". I didn't get many people going: wait you're going to date ANIMALS? So I kept it the way I have it now without spoiling it. In the game itself I try very hard to make the love in the game be very: If only you were human I would love you, but you're an animal so you're only my friend.

The whole thing is pretty frustrating though.


I don't think I could every make them anthro, however, it's just such a different feeling than what I am going for. I just hope that people don't take it as EW BESTIALITY.

It could work, a la Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The Beast is definitely no bishonen, lol. Still, he's a very lovable character and, I think, he's the best romantic interest out of all the Disney movies.

So the wonderful land of college put my poor little VN on temporary hiatus, but I've got winter break starting soon so back to working on it :D

The break was actually good as now I can look back on the story and as of now I'm probably going to nix the prologue because it's noticeably weaker writing (that I'm not sure I can fix) and it slows down the pace, is full of clunky exposition and many retellings of the fairytale don't include this part anyway.

I'm also planning to focus on story and coding for a while, and not worry about the art.

Sorry for the hiatus <3 But I'm back on track :D

sometimes i wish that disney characters had anime lips too.
