A gimmick? Yes. A cool gimmick? Yes.

I loved watching the video, I'm really into tesseracts and thinking of doing that gets me all mentally stimulated and stuff. And I don't even like First-Person Shooters!

A gimmick? Looks like a real game in development to me...

A bit too close to Prey's release in my opinion (I know Prey is old but right now it's like "hey, look, we can do portals too, ha!") but definitely taken to a higher level so that'll probably make the pill very easy to swallow ^^.

You know, I hear everyone saying it's a Prey rip-off but what they did was take that idea and completely expanded it into an awesome gameplay feature.

Actually, this game appears to be a remake (by the same team) of a game called Narbacular Drop.

Hmmm, I'm not *entirely* convinced that you'll be able to get away with just the portal gameplay. It seems well suited for an innovative FPS made with a lower budget, but I wonder whether it's commercial enough to be rentable if you make it with high production values. Having just one gimmick as the carrying gameplay feature may get tiresome after 10 hours, especially as it isn't as satisfying as say the ballistic orgies in Black.

Well, this is being included as a bonus on half-life 2, rather than being sold as a stand-alone game. And I'm not sure it's really right to call it a first-person shooter. It's more of a first-person puzzler, ot something like that.

Ah, okay, that makes sense then. Hmmm, imagine a deathmatch - scientists (portal users) vs. militarists (guys with guns). :D
