Today we got height and weight measured at school and I found out I weight more than I thought.
I'm not exactly a fat guy so I figured I'd weigh around the 60s region (kg)
I found out today I'm 69kg and I'm 169cm tall. No joke. (Also this is my 69th post.)
Of course I'm sure some of my weight is from muscle since I work out, what about you guys? Any of you weigh more than you would like? or less?
also I'm not acting like a 12 year old going oh teehee I weight 69kg and everything is 69. I just found it funny that there happened to be 3 things that coincidentally all share the same number in such a short span of time.

Well some of my friends say that I look like I weigh maybe about 45kg at the highest? When I actually weigh about 53kg xD

Hmm. Well, I normally wouldn't partake, being a self-centered, Imperial-unit-using American. But I was curious what my metric measurements are...180cm and 63kg.

Bah! That just doesn't roll off the tongue. No wonder Americans cling to Imperial units. My car gets 40 hogs heads to the gallon, and that's the way I likes it! :lol:

@Death_HUG: Haha when I was getting weighed the nurse couldn't believe I weighed 69 kg she took a look at me and was like "I never thought you would weigh that much. Do you do rugby?" and im like naw, but I do kickboxing and fitness (lifting weights and stuff) and I forgot the point of this story. Anyways dont judge a book by its cover

Gosh, I was just talking about this recently with my friends. We were measuring ourselves and checking the length and size of our body proportions. Even though we have a height and weight difference we found out that we had similar body percentages. (Like our legs made 57% of our height, torso 34%, head was 50cm around, etc.) Not that those are the actual measurements but we compared it like that. It's really fun, you should try it!

Getting back to your topic post, the BMI system sucks...(not sure if you're using BMI here since you didn't necessarily refer to it in your post...) You're pretty much normal compared to most males that I've come across. Is it a problem if you are not a couple pounds lighter? And yes, I agree, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." There is always something deceiving going on.

BMI is largely meaningless - it was never meant to be applied to individuals, only as a statistical tool for looking over populations in general. (And then to add to that, certain people moved the cutoff points for different "categories" of BMI for political purposes...)

Also, be aware that publicly obsessing about your weight can be very stressful for people around you who have suffered from eating disorders or weight-related bullying, on either end (skinny people get hassled too!). Imagine how anyone bigger than you is going to feel when they read you saying "OMG I WEIGH TOO MUCH!!!" :)

(Mebbe retitle the thread to 'I don't weigh what I thought I did'?)

80kg at 176cm, quite satisfied with it since I was at 58kg 3 years ago. My belly could be a little smaller, but I wouldn't call myself fat ;).

Now to feel ashamed when I post that I weigh 160-ish pounds. Not because that's a bad weight, but because I don't know my weight in kg.

I weigh 53kg, and I'm 171cm :'D

..I never seem to realise how light I actually am, I compare myself to my friends but I often forget that they're much shorter than me ;__;

As long as you have body fat below 20% (<30% for females), you should consider yourself pretty healthy. I'm currently at 179cm, 76-77kg and ~15% fat without any exercise other than working standing up..

That would be roughly 72kg.

@luminarous: I agree. We should be focusing on the body fat percentage, not the body mass. A thin person may be carrying a lot of body fat even though they may not look like it. As for a bulkier person, they may look bigger because they most likely have more muscle rather than fat. It's really deceiving. As long as you exercise and are not overdosing in unhealthy food then you should be healthy.

Out of curiousity, I decided to see what my height and weight would be. I'm about 170ish(?) cm and 63.5 kg. Not really sure about the height. Should be about 5'7" and 140 lb. My friends all say I'm light for someone of my height.

I like the metric system. It makes me feel like I'm taller and weigh less :D

I feel your pain. ;_;

Anyway, I'm 174 cm and I weigh 62 kgs and a lot of people say I should stop eating a lot of meat and sweets since they want me to be thinner.

I feel like they want me to be a god damned anorexic! (ಠ_ಠ)

I'm trying to gain weight XD but not through body fat. Through muscle :D
and I've always thought BMI was stupid because people who have lots of muscle could fall into obese categories easier than chubby people when they clearly aren't "obese"
@luminarious how can you have such low body fat xD it's not fair. I need to go run more xD
