Hello Guys, I would like to inform you about this upcoming web based game named "Sentou Gakuen" (戦闘 学園, 'Combat School'). The Open Beta date (29 December 2011) is still 4 days from now, but I'll post the thread and will keep it updated till that date so that you won't lose start
so what is this game?
Sentou Gakuen is the very first Online Visual Novel that combined with MMORPG elements. Developed by Indonesian indie developer team named, "PS(T_T)eam".
Sentou Gakuen primarily takes place in a fictional school called Sentou High School, which is located somewhere in Tokyo. Physical locales of Tokyo such as Shibuya Scramble Crossing and Wako Shop at Ginza can be spotted in the game. When the story begins, the player will take their role as a new freshman student at Sentou High School where they will meet new friends as their journey begins.
Unlike most visual novels, the visual novel portion of Sentou Gakuen gets updated daily since it is part of a living community; the visual novel also affects online gameplay. Not only that, the visual novel of Sentou Gakuen is an ongoing story that, with time and players' support, will go beyond the expectations of traditional visual novels. Furthermore, the community of Sentou Gakuen may also have influence on how the stories of play out. Since it contains MMORPG elements, the players interact with the visual novel world, because only with players will there be protagonists in the world of Sentou Gakuen.
-You are the protagonist of this story-In Sentou Gakuen, you are free to choose your own path. You can just study and study, doing bad things at school, protect the weak, or exploit their weakness. Spend your money to help your friends, or horde it, they can take care of themselves. Form a club and become the most respected group of students in the school. Declare war on an enemy, or an innocent bystander, the choice is yours.
Still don't know what is this?Massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is a genre of role-playing video games in which a very large number of players interact with one another within a virtual game world. As in all RPGs, players assume the role of a character (in this case, a student) and take control over many of that character's actions. MMORPGs are distinguished from single-player or small multi-player RPGs by the number of players, and by the game's persistent world, which continues to exist and evolve while the player is offline and away from the game.
How about visual novel? A visual novel is an interactive fiction game featuring mostly static graphics, usually with anime-style art, or occasionally live-action stills or video footage. As the name might suggest, they resemble mixed-media novels or tableau vivant stage plays. This will be the very first Online Visual Novel that ever exist.
The concept of this game will be similar like that, combining both visual novel and mmorpg in one. Just like usual mmorpg, player will have each stats. To increase stats they have to take some lessons and attending class (For example if you want to increase your strength you have to take PE Physical Education class). Another stats are such as Energy, its required if you want to do training. Willpower, this is the efficiency of your actions. Will would be bigger if you bought a more luxurious dorm room. Action Points, you need this to perform actions. Experience, progress of the levelling. Health, if u run out of this you will be sent to infimary.
There are "Story Mode", where the story of the game will be told in Visual Novel-way. The tutorial part also will be explained in this mode. The story mode, are optional, this will be you might say 'Quests'. Players are free whether to do it or not. After the player finished the story, the game didn't ended, but they can continue the game, thus this game is open ended.
More ExplanationsAs for money, there are various ways to get this. The good way are obtaining it through part time job or studying. The bad way are obtained through brave-taking actions such as peeping at girls and then sell the photos, steal the exams answer and then sell it to your friends, or etc. But beware this can make you imprisoned at Detention Center. In order to protect yourself (Or PvP cases), the students can equipt theirselves with deadly weapons such as pencils, ball point pens, tweezers, rulers, staplers, scissors, pepper spray or etc. And armors. For more intense gameplay, the students can form their clubs which require some fees to be established. Clubs are a group of students that band together to work for a common purpose.
Additional notes, there are special club where the members are appointed specially by staff such as :
-Newspaper club, they are in charge of publishing School Newspapers
-Disciplinary Committee, alias moderator, they will be in charge to keep the game clean.
