Well, this is the first game I've successfully completed in Ren'Py. It's a retelling of the traditional story of Tanabata. One summer day, the princess of the night sky accidentally falls to Earth. This is a story of hot blood, youth, and overcoming with willpower.

I tried playing this because I love the Tanabata story, but after the first few screens, I got hit with a bunch of errors mostly around some "monkist_BUNCH OF NUMBERS" file that couldn't be found. I kept ignoring them and then chapter two opened up, but I'd missed most of chapter one because of that, so. D: What I saw/heard of it so far looked pretty good, but I can't play the game further if I am missing a chunk of the opening chapter. XD

Ah, sorry -- I don't have a Mac, so that's probably why I didn't detect the error sooner. It looks like a particular image didn't get archived properly.
I've re-added it and updated the binary, so redownloading from the link in the original post should fix the problem, in theory (thank goodness for the way Dropbox handles links). Thank you for your interest, and I hope you enjoy the game!

Alright, so I finished reading this. It's a bit odd you've so few reviews, but then I suppose the lack of artwork is off-putting. Personally, I think the visuals used are just right, leaving enough to the reader's imagination.

I like the opening. It has a certain charm to it, which is sometimes hard to find in amateur writing. The basic interactions at the start were good.

I was less fond of the confusing description of the male. First introduced as a boy, that same scene calls him a man later on - when I read boy, I tend to think under 18. When I read man, I assume over; therefore it became difficult for me to picture the person's age.

I was also less fond of the places you had stops at. Sometimes I'd click just to get the addition of "I say" or "he says"; mostly when you read, you gloss over such descriptions and they make little impact. By requiring a seperate click for that line, and nothing else with it, it calls special attention to them, which worked distracting.

All in all, though, I enjoyed reading it. It feels a little unpolished in certain places, and rough around the edges, but it's nice. If you decide to look back at this and change it, I'd recommend adding an intermission scene to make it more clear what happened, and to expand on the relation between the two protagonists.

I'm guessing "about" is the only thing in "extras" due to lack of character art and special scenes with character art. In the "about" however the text is way too dark. It's quite annoying trying to read something that is Black or very dark text on a dark background no matter how lovely both the colors are....

I tried playing the game but can't past the first few lines because I receive an error stating that a certain jpg file cannot be found. I have a windows. Please advise what I can do to fix it. Thank you.
