Totally legit double post. Derek's new sprite is done!:


Yes, he's still blue. Yes, he's got cat ears. That's what was under the hat, but I just went 'screw it' and revealed at the beginning.

Irrelevant back story/world history: being a cat/animal-eared person is not a good thing.

Also, TOTALLY COMPLETE SCREENSHOT:

His eyes are sort of derpy, aren't they? Maybe I'll fix it later.

I feel so accomplished. The sprites left to do are as follows:

-Mongoose!Susan
-Becky
-Candace

As for CGs...there's probably won't be any, because screw it I don't feel confident doing them, but it I get everything else done, I'll try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained I suppose.

I don't even know. I mean, I know how the story ends and where I'm going with it, but I don't have a word count goal (though I guess I'll aim for 3,000, at least).

On that note, Becky:


Yeah, she got a redesign. You'll also come to realize that despite the fact Susan is a weremongoose, she's the most 'normal'-looking character.

(Normal is in quotes because, by our standards, most of them don't look normal. By the world it's taking place in, it's perfectly normal)

New word count, since the writing is like 80-90% done:


I might just hit my 3,000 word goal, after all. Huh. On that note, when NaNo is over, I'm probably going to rewrite the whole thing since it feels rushed in places to me, and while I'm about to write the ending, I feel it'll also come across as rushed. I expect after NaNo, there'll also be an 'extended' edition and hopefully new sprites by someone who's a better artist than me. And CGs.

TRIPLE POST, ZOMG

Annnd the last sprite (Candace) is...mostly done. I'm still adjusting her eyes (which are meant to look weirder/cartoonier than the others), but that's that otherwise. Will probably redo Susan's mongoose sprite because she totally looks more like a dog the way I drew her. Also, hit my 3k word goal. Alllmost done with the writing.

Semi-related, this is Teen!Becky, who's meant to be in an extra/side story I'm going to add in once the month is over and I rewrite everything:


Said side story is meant to be about how Becky met Derry Derek ten years ago, when she was fifteen, and Derek was seventeen. No, they never date. Yes, both (especially Derek) are pushing thirty in the 'present' story. Susan's twenty-three.

The question here is: does Becky dye her hair black, or does she dye it purple? Or is it actually some other color entirely?
