I've released Ren'Py 6.13.10. This release fixes a bug that can cause image buttons and image maps to not work on the software renderer. Other changes include more aggressive pruning of the rollback log to reduce memory consumption, improved handling of display initialization errors, and fixes to the loading of pure-python packages included as part of a game.

My hope is that people will use this release for their NaNoRenO projects, so that those projects will run on a wide range of systems.

Since this is a pure-bugfix release, there isn't a changelog for this release. A list of changes in recent Ren'Py versions can be found at:

Update: asked them and previous version was working fine without problems. So this new build has that crash if users do alt-tab to switch from game window/other windows. Thanks

Not sure when this happened, but now all of a sudden the custom icons for distributions aren't working, at least for the Mac. The app has the proper icon, but when you open it, the correct icon blinks only once or twice on the dock before changing into an icon of the PyGame snake. D: I have the icon files in the correct place and they worked when I used a slightly older version of Ren'Py, but since I don't often build distros, I'm not sure which version it last worked properly on. I have an older distro of my game still on my HD that works properly that I can probably check to see which version of Ren'Py that was... This was built back in November, though.

Did you upgrade the MacOS ? Sometimes updates breaks previously working stuff or change behavior slightly. I remember back in 2005-06 some of my C games were crashing and was a change in the Quicktime code (a bug).

I did (I have the newest version of Mac, I think), but games released with slightly older versions of Ren'Py don't have this problem, so it's probably not an OS issue.

I've released Ren'Py 6.13.12. This release fixes several post-NaNoRenO bugs reported by the Juniper's Knot project, and others. The changes are:

* Fixes a related minimize and restore bug.
* Improves compatibility with games that replace config.keymap.
* Allows StylePreference and Language to work together.
* Logs to the system temp directory if it can't writhe to the current directory.
* Allows the screenshot filename to be configured by the creator.
* Fixes keyboard adjustment of bars.
* Updates the preferences screen when the window resizes.
* Clears keyboard modifiers (like alt) when the window gains focus. This fixes a problem where the alt from an alt-tab would be remembered by Ren'Py, even after the key has been released.
