Hi, I'm working on a short-to-medium-length VN project (to take a break from RPG Maker, which is really taxing), which is clocked at around 15,000 words so far, so I reckon I should start finding someone to help me do lineart. I should be able to do some colouring, but I absolutely cannot draw men and proper poses, which is why I'm looking for an artist who can do the basic lineart for me for the sprites and CGs.

Here's a synopsis of the story and characters:

Story

These are the steps to control.

In a certain country during the late 20th century, a series of strange deaths occurred. All of the victims were found with their bodies putrefied and decaying, even though they shouldn't have died more than a few hours ago. After years of investigation, the "monster" behind these deaths was successfully apprehended and taken into study. The monster later managed to escape and was said to have been killed by the police in a brawl, but not before coldly murdering an innocent young girl, Mikaela Lane.

This story is set a year later - about a young female governmental mercenary, Sho Reilen, who is skilled in the use of swords. And Kaison Voltaire, a young man who seeks to hunt her down in revenge for the death of his beloved friend, Mikaela.

Crimson Rafflesia is a story about truth and lies, love and hate, and a field of decaying flowers.


Characters

Sho Reilen

Age: 16
Favourite Colour: Red
About: A childlike girl with mostly cropped white-green hair that reaches the bottom of her collar, but also two lengths of hair behind which are left long enough to reach her knees. Crimson eyes. Not very feminine, but not exactly tomboyish either - just more like a child. She wields a rapier half her height, and thanks to some of her abilities, she can easily defeat a gunman with it. A childish girl that is usually deadpan and doesn't talk much, but actually has a mad obsession with taunting Kaison Voltaire, and can easily kill someone without blinking. Quite a despicable person and seeks pleasure from destroying others. Pretty much a villain.

Kaison Voltaire
Appearance: Black-turquoise hair, blue eyes. I can't really design guys very well, so whoever who wants to do the art can make the designs, I suppose. I just need it that he wears a jacket, a collared shirt and long pants. A vest underneath can do, too.
Age: 17
Favourite Colour: Blue
About: A young man whose father was a fencer. He is calm, composed and controls his emotions well. He has the ability to control heat and fire, which he can channel into metal, leading to his preference for swords in the same way as Sho.

Erik Faraday
Appearance: Orange-yellow hair, green eyes, a black suit and vest with a green tie.
Age: 21
Favourite Colour: Green
About: The son of the Prime Minister, and Sho's employer. Has a strong sense of duty, but is also merciless.

Aurelia Primer
Appearance: Waist-length cherry-brown hair in a straight cut, golden eyes. Will have two or three outfits.
Age: 19
Favourite Colour: Yellow
About: A priestess of the Temple of Holy Light.

Currently the script is going quite steady, which is why I've decided to try to search for an artist first so that he/she can have a head start. I'm sorry I don't really have anything to give - but if you'd give me a chance, I'll be able to help with some writing or general editing in the future if you want some kind of trade. Thanks. Commentary:
They're not the same height. I envisioned Sho to be about a head and a half shorter than Kaison. I just wanted to take the entire length of the paper.

Sho: I tried to follow your concept as closely as possible. For the hair, I personally find that it looks like a mop head. I suggest that the sideburns reach the collar, but gets shorter towards the back. That way, I can see the two tails from the back. As for the two tails, I suggest having them tied. Or the hair can simply defy logic, I'm cool with that too.
I also gave her a scabbard for her rapier. Feels incomplete to me that she wields a sword with no scabbard.
I gave her a two gun-fingers because I like Revolver Ocelot. It doesn't have to stay.

Kaison: I would like him to wear a vest, but with the jacket it will amount to three layers. I don't know how the weather is like there, so this is what I did. I have no problems having him wear a jacket.
Since his element is fire, I made his hair fiery. For his face, I could give him straight lips to show controlled emotions; but for this piece, I gave him a :< face to make him look utterly bored because I find it funny.
Also, I was thinking that his rapier and scabbard have a V insignia or something to show his family's substantial reputation, and that they hired a blacksmith to tailor each sword for them.
I gave Kaizon sneakers.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, superhbman. I do like your style, but I probably will have problems fitting lineart for it since I'm not very used to it. I do like your poses though - so I might not have you as a concept artist, but you can totally be my master when it comes to drawing swords and hands and stuff. I'll PM you if I need anything.

I feel it's rather odd that no one else has posted.

This seems like a game I would enjoy, since I'm a huge sucker for darker themed VNs and the story sounds interesting. I also absolutely love Sho's hairstyle! (I love it so much I even drew a pic of her)^^;
I wish you luck, hopefully you will find an artist soon.

There are mostly sketches up, but I do have a pen tablet, so I can do line art and such.

I've already started working on a rough sketch for Kaison just to see what I could come up with.
