As for an update... Here's a close up sample of the pre-boss on normal mode (the boss and pre-boss are the same for this level?) I was finally able to figure out what I did wrong in the programming but had to re-write everything concerning the bullets. The pre-boss will only use these types of bullets... their stats are:

heartBullet: generated in a "swirl" pattern continually from pre-boss start
circleBullet: generated in a circular pattern around the pre-boss and breaks off starting from 90 degrees to 270. Their movement from their release is random; hitting the back wall will result in a bounce.
boneBullet: generated from center of mini-boss field, 3 at a time every 6.5 seconds (on normal mode), goes toward player's position at time of release.

Dear God. This seems so wonderful! I'm in love with the art and the premise is all kinds of awesome! Utopian settings is something we really don't see that often and the characters seem adorable! Also, damn, that word count is huge! It's really impressive that you completed such a long story all by yourself.

I can't wait to see more from you, the best of luck for the demo release! I can't wait! o.o

I didn't realize I would need a loading screen until Gamemaker's default loading screen came up while I tested the menus to the first level ^^' Hopefully this looks better? Haha...

That bullet density looks just about right for Normal mode, now Im just curious about the bullet speed.

And your art just makes everything look huggable.

Wow, I would've never guessed that there would be someone who could make a danmaku otome...I guess that would be correct terminology. Yet so far it doesn't seem big on the romance (not that I'm complaining).

I don't know how to describe the bullet speed without showing you ^^' That'll have to wait until the 18th when the demo comes out ;)

lol I thought it would be fun trying to mix the two... ^^'

At the moment I'm mainly working on getting the demo finished which will mostly cover the danmaku portion of the game... mostly to see how others will react to it... But there will be romance ^^

There's only two guys to choose between (and a route where you don't choose anyone). Although there will be a few splits in the story, I'm hoping to keep the same length and amount of danmaku battles the same for each of them.

Thank you! Unfortunately I've changed the level a bit so she only uses the heart bullets during her "true" boss battle instead of during the mini-boss battle.

She calls her last attack "Symphonic of Love" which Mneme corrects as "Symphony of Love"


The sprites and backgrounds have also changed to be a bit more cartoonishy... I didn't like the watercolored background too much and the sprites blended in too much to see very well.

Hmm, looking at it, it does seem like a good idea to have this fully voiced. I don't think many of us are going to be reading while colorful death is raining down upon us.

lol ^^' The voice actresses for the the two characters in the demo are amazing so hopefully reading won't be too much of a distraction ^^' I'm wondering if I should add a feature to disable text or voices... my only problem is that the visual novel and the gameplay aspect are intertwined. It takes me eleven minutes to beat the level on normal mode and dialogue is occurring the entire time and is actually cut off at certain parts... Anyway, I'm afraid that disabling the text and voices will take away too much from the story. >,>

I'll see how the demo goes and eliminate or add certain things with complaints ^^
