That's part of why we wrote the big complicated noble soap opera generator for Long Live The Queen's backstory. Because proper noble successions SHOULD be known in immense detail! (Look at wikipedia and see how far you can track down the british succession...)

However, an escaped princess could still make a decent argument that she SHOULD be the rightful heir, even if she was disinherited. It's at least a good banner for a civil war.

Even if someone else ruled, she would still be Queen in all rights (given that the royal family couldn't kick people out and women could rule). If she was free, there would be no way to keep her from her rightful place on the throne. Not that anyone would want to. Actually it would be pretty interesting if one of the characters was the King who had to abdicate in favour of her XD

Fun fact: In real life, they can. But since this is set in a fictional fantasy world, that doesn't really matter. ;)

Away with you, vile royalist! Viva la Revolution!

No one would argue with her anyway. If she walked up to the current ruler and said move, I would bet they would move. But what would happen after that would be the interesting bit. She might be the rightful ruler, but that doesn't mean people will accept her. However, she isn't a child anymore and has well and truly come into her power. Taking her down would be easier said than done. Wouldn't make her job of ruling easy though... that's if she didn't kill everyone...

I would like to see an otome where the protagonist is born the daughter of a king and queen. Except you weren't born human. Even at a young age you showed unfathomable power. Fearing their daughter, the King and Queen attempt to have you killed. But you can't be killed, not by ordinary means anyway. So they lock you away, chained and bound away from the rest of the world. Years pass and the King and Queen die, leaving you as their only heir, the Queen. While you remain locked away, others run the country. But one day the country is invaded and the sea side capital falls under attack. All looks lost until the enemy makes one mistake. They unleash you.

You lay waste to their forces. But the citizens feel no comfort. They now had something much worse to worry about, an immortal Queen with the power to destroy them all. So what will you do? Take revenge? Rule with an iron fist? How will you react to their fear? And how will they react to you?

Now take this idea, but make the daughter Queen Bloody Mary! This would be a story that could only end in good!

Also, I'd assume this is not on Earth, or in a different time period. Just sayin', I'd chuck her into the deepest part of the ocean. /terrible person

A story told from multiple perspectives. In the beginning, you select a pairing of 2 characters, and a perspective. The story of the two characters' interactions is then told, be it a story of friendship, romance, hate, or something else. By playing all the pairings, you'd be able to get an idea of the whole story. It'd be like a character web

Given the nature of this, some of the pairings would be shorter than others.

I think I'm going to have to do this. It'd be a good match for slice of life, I think. That being said, it's going to be a while if I ever do, and I think it'd be rather cool to see someone else do it.

Of course, the maths for this look very daunting. With 9 characters to choose from and 2 perspectives, that's 9x8x2, or 144 individual stories.

Ahh that sounds like it would be so much fun to read... I'm a crap writer though, so I don't think I could ever pull off such a story.

I'd love to see a story or two about relationships (both friendship and romantic) that develop through the internet and how they effect us, or the differences between internet relationships and ones that happen in 'real life'. I've seen one or two stories that have that theme (Digital: A Love Story springs to mind) but there's so many different types of aspects and angles that haven't been explored yet!

I'd also love to see a game that had a bit about animal shelters and animal rescue. Ooh, I would love to read a VN about someone who dedicated their life to saving animals from euthanization and helping them find their forever homes. Maybe it could be a slice-of-life connected to a bigger arc? I don't know if anyone would even want to read a story like that besides me hahaha.

When I first joined these forums, I had aspirations to write a BxG romantic catgirl story in which you are reunited with your animal-loving childhood friend who has grown up to be a mad scientist and has saved unwanted cats from being euthanized by turning them into delightfully illegal cat girls. You became their guardian in case the government happened to drop in on your friend, and general slice of life and government-eluding hijinks was supposed to ensue. Ultimately, it didn't turn out because I couldn't really decide the mood I was going for and it developed a serious case of story schizophrenia. I wanted to write a fun and comedic game that could pull your heartstrings at times, but the premise and moral implications overshadowed the fun.

Fortunately, I created some pretty cute characters in the process and will probably put them to use at some point in my life.

Oh man, it's a shame you weren't able to get it to work out how you wanted. I think it could have been interesting to have it be a cute slice of life kind of story for a while, then pulling a WHAM moment where stuff got serious and the plot ripped out your heart and threw it on the ground. I'm glad you'll get to use the characters for something else though!

That's kind of what I wanted. I was inspired by those visual novels that have cute happy openings but end up with the player sobbing their eyes out. But I wasn't really sure how to foreshadow the seriousness. I also had a hard time deciding if the girls were going to be really moe moe "I love you, Master! Nya!" or if they were going to be a little more like actual girls. I personally wanted them to act a little more like actual people so that the comedy and their interactions would be a little more intelligent, but then they would lose some of that precious moe innocence that seems to be pretty important to the art of tear-jerking. :P

In the end, I just don't think I'm cut out for moe. The story I wrote for the Pet Project was supposed to be moe, and it turned into a ridiculous comedy/parody thing. I think I'm just too snarky a writer to be able to portray such cute and innocent situations...

No no, Sapphi. You should totally make that story, and NOT overlook the moral implications!

Well I have one idea, and it's a bit fleshed out, but I dunno if I'll ever get the chance to do it or not. Replaying Chaos;Head then watching Mirai Nikki tends to do that to people

Its an otome game idea Shocking, I know. that starts as a regular otome game with 4 romanceable boys and 2 friendship ones. Well, the dating/bonding part lasts for 30 days after which, by the end of the 30 days you're about to confess your love (Or about to ask the boy if they wish to be your BFF in the case of the friendship routes) when numerous meteors strike the Earth. One of them is aimed directly at you and the boy and are nearly killed by the crash, but are rescued by Gaia, the Titan of Earth itself. The reason she saved you?
The MC is the reincarnation of the goddess Hera. The 6 boys and 5 other girls are all reborn versions of the Twelve Olympians, who were, in reality, humans with godlike powers. Gaia has called upon you and the others to fend off an invasion by monsters from another world (who launched their first attack with the meteros) and save the human race from extinction. Now, here's where that first part actually plays a key role: as the reincarnation of Hera, the MC's powers vary on which of the 6 boys she "bonded" with (as in, gained a close connection with) , and can borrow the abilities of the 5 other girls. The entire second half of the story is you and the boy you chose in the first half of the game fighting off the invaders in major cities (which depend on which path you're on). The ending depends on the choices you make in the 2nd half, which can vary from catastrophic failure and extinction of man to saving the world and reparing the damage.

Problem: Hera is the goddess of family, naturally fidel, is somewhat of a green-eyed monster with a huge case of paranoia. And who sired like half of the primary Greek gods. I do believe that the notion of "bonding" here might sound a bit... off.

Not that them wacky Greeks ever did let such a pesky thing as familial bond get in the way of a good romp, mind you, so we might be getting at something here.

I also don't recall saying the heroine was sane...

Funny, I had a somewhat similar idea. What if modern-day pop stars were actual avatars of ancient deities, and depended on the adoration of mortals to use their powers? Sounds like a good setting for an idol raising-sim/RPG hybrid, doesn't it? Recruit, train, and promote godly young idols, then take them to concerts around trouble spots to fight their enemies. The more fans they have, and the better they perform, the stronger they will be in the after-concert battles. After that, deal with their huge egos and messed up personalities and get around for another round, because the world is at stake.
