ok, assuming that I have a logo design in my mind already. Then the next problem is how to make this? I can hand-draw a design, but it can't be a logo. I think logos should be some vector graphics, but it's completely out of my field.
So, I'd ask you who's making some logos, what application are you using and how to?
Thanks.

I use photoshop and illustrator, sometimes alone, sometimes together. You only really need vector logos when you are going to be printing, and even then only when the scales are going to have a wide range. Vectors are based on mathematical equations instead of pixels and so are infinitely scaleable, from tiny to massive. However, if you are only planning to have the logo on screen and/or limited print with a known size, who can use bitmap programs. Any graphics program would work in that case, preferable with the ability to create text unless you are planning to hand draw it. There is an open source vector program called Inkscape if you want to go down that route as well.

Yeah, Auro-Cyanide is right,

If you're going the vector route, I typically use Illustrator; but as that costs money... I haven't used Inkscape but I have heard good things.

Either way, I think sketching out your logo ideas first then going into vector may be a good route to go so you don't feel confined with anything. However, I typically just go straight in these days, but I've been doing it for awhile. :-)

If you know what size you need the logo to be though, using a raster program like Photoshop may help you in case you wanted to do some effects like texturing and the like. I was going to say glow, but I believe in CS...3 they added outer glows to Illustrator.

Anyways, hope this helps!

Thanks for the replys :)
I have Photoshop but not Illustrator. Logos aren't intended for printing so It's ok to be rasterized in the middle of process. Well, in this case, should I learn Vector apps? I mean, what is the strong point of Illustrator more than Photoshop when the final products don't need to be vectors?

I'm lazy when it comes to learn new stuff (in this case, vector application). So I just grab a font that looks good, and do the rest with brush, copy paste, blur, etc with my SAI o.o;

I think i found a super lazy site lol

It must be the same code as gimp, but it allows fast preview. Maybe I 'd have one made with this temporary before I get learned a skill to make logos from scratch.

Oh that's.. ah, I know what your feeling haha. I'm also usually do anything with SAI as possible as it can, even I know it's really limited.

I tend to use Gimp // Paint Tool Sai and Open Canvas for most of my arts. All these programs have tutorials all over the net so there is that.

Any number of Fonts can be found simply googling

I use Adobe Illustrator and import it to Photoshop. After I have done what need to do I export it as a .png.

I've got absolutely no experience in logo design, but if you're concerned, I've heard of people creating vectors based off normal drawings, so if you've got a design in mind, and can make it, when the time for getting a vector comes, you might be able to find someone to do it for you.
